We stayed for one week in this beautiful estate to relax do yoga and receive ayurvedic treatment. The serene tranquility of the surroundings filled with birds songs, the warmth and friendliness of the staff, the excellent ayurvedic treatments, and the delicious food using organic home-grown ingredients from the plantation made it for us a very wonderful stay. We definitely would love to come back!

Lovely people, an excellent cook and excellent service, beautiful surroundings, quiet.
Great place to relax, hike or enjoy the Ayurveda treatments.
We booked the B&B, and had some extra treatments. Very good value for your money.

Ten days of tranquility, sunshine, and well-being! The package deal was a great value: two massages and a herbal bath every day combined with well-prepared fresh food, brought me to a high level of physical and mental health. Afternoon trips arranged by the caring and capable staff took us on safari to see elephants, to the beach to help release turtles from the hatchery, to the street market to marvel at the assortment of fruit, and to a jewelry factory to watch craftsmen setting sapphires (and buy at great prices). A long way from Pennsylvania U.S.A., but well worth the trip.

This is a secluded little piece of paradise where you hear the birds chirping all day,eat only healthy food, can do yoga everyday or laze about to your heart's content. This is the place to go to totally unwind and get away from the hectic pace of city life.

The hotel staff are very nice and accomodating and really look out for you, especially if you are a woman travelling alone.

There is never any pressure to socialise but as the hotel only has 8 rooms, you can get to know other guests quite well which is great.

I enjoyed being pampered every day but have to say that if you are doing the whole ayurvedic stay, prepare yourself to drinking some interesting herbal concoctions every day.

Room Tip: The 'spa' at Plantation Villa is very basic but my therapist was very professionals and you...

Plantation Villa is a great place to go to detox, relax and rejuvenate. Excellent cooking and incredibly hardworking staff. The treatments and massages were fantastic. The location is totally unspoilt with monkeys and fruit trees. A gem in Sri Lanka.

We stayed at the Plantation Villa for 2 nights before flying back to the UK after a month of touring in Sri Lanka. We were given the state room in the main house as we were the only guests. The room was large and comfortable. Although it is an ayurvedic centre we did not experience any of this but the facilities for massage and yoga looked excellent. The swimming pool is the same depth from end to end which we liked. However, it is quite small and would feel cramped with more than 4 people in it. The gardens were lovely to sit in with lots of shade. It is possible to walk through the rubber plantation that the villa is situated in. There is not much else around the villa to do or see but this doesn't matter as it is a good place to stop and relax in after a lot of travelling. The meals were excellent but very expensive.

Room Tip: Rooms in the main house have good wifi but can be a bit noisy as the staff get up very early.

I chose this as the location for my Yoga/Ayurveda retreat..and I could not have chosen better! Everything was fabulous, from the delicious food and fresh organic juices to the daily massages and ayurvedic treatments. And yes...many other places offer the same thing - but Plantation Villa has something the other places don't - the warm smiles and friendly manner of its staff. They make you feel truly special I taught my yoga classes outdoors on the expansive sand court under the stars with beautifully lit oil lamps by night, and with the birds by day. We had a visit by a local school that shared a beautiful rendition of traditional Sri Lankan dancing. We took small visits to the local villages and temples, to a local turtle hatchery, and to a few beaches. It was a 30-35 min ride to the beaches...but they were fabulous! Ishara would graciously have her staff pack banana leaf 'snack packs' or lunches that we enjoyed as picnics. No questions...I will be coming back with another yoga group!

A 100 year old property owned by the then chief of the village and 'govi raja' - Paddy King, an honour bestowed by the government. This property has now been expanded upon to create a nature health resort. The hotel is a specialist Ayurveda / Yoga retreat with 8 rooms set amidst a 30 acre plantation of Rubber, Coconut, Cinnamon, Black Pepper and numerous vegetation, fruit trees and paddy fields. The guest experiences are personalised - each guest will be met by an Ayurvedic Doctor on the first day of their arrival who will plan their diet and ayurveda treatment plans which will be administered during their stay. Majority of the food served to guests come from our own organic gardens surrounding the hotel and daily yoga classes will be conducted to compliment their therapies. Treatments range from general relaxation / destress or detox to the cure or prevention of paralysis, cancer, piles etc. Whilst most guests come for just a relaxing experience or to loose weight or detox, we have had some guests with serious illnesses.
