My boyfriend and I did an 11 day tour of Sri Lanka ending with 4 days in kalutara. We'd heard a lot about Sri Lankan cuisine but throughout the tour didn't really feel like we'd experienced the best of it as it was mostly buffets at our stops. This place was everything we had heard about Sri Lankan food and more! The staff are lovely and it's a family business - the 2 brothers front of house, uncle catching the fish, mum cooking and there is a really warm atmosphere to the place. The food is simply delicious and they are more than happy to give you more rice and more sauce for no extra cost. We were here off season and couldn't believe the size of the prawns - although apparently if you come at the right time they are the size of your forearm! Best prawns I've ever eaten by a long way.
Extremely good value, would happily have paid double and still been very impressed!
So pleased I got to experience cuisine like this - it was exactly what we'd been looking for all holiday.
