Super luxury rooms were good. Air condition interrupted intermittently due to power failure. No mosquitoes. Reception desk was good and helpful. Restaurant was terrible. Broken chairs, no clean, Saturday night buffet was a big joke, untrained and clueless waiters. Will recommend with warning about the restaurant

I stayed here for one night, the room was large with garrish red curtains, the washroom was not quite "North American" standards, but okay. Ate at the restaurant and was sick for two days. Apparently one should not eat shrimps in Jaffna.

There's not a big choice of hotels if you're staying in Jaffna, and given that this was recently a war zone, and it's still a police state, you probably won't be expecting anything fancy. That's good, because you won't find it here. The carpeting, as well as the sheets and towels, were worn and stained. The plastic shower "pod" leaks and floods the bathroom. The power goes on and off all night, and the air conditioning doesn't come back on when the power does, so you have to keep waking up to reset the A.C., and the remote control doesn't work well. There was a step down from the bedroom to the entry door, and a step back up from the entry way to the bathroom, so there was a constant danger of tripping during the night. Oddly, in the midst of a dirty old bathroom there was a vessel sink -- the one concession to a modern upgrade. There were few services or amenities (no shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, room service, business center, etc.) but there was a mediocre breakfast bar at an adjoining restaurant (not included in the room price). You stay here because you have to, and you won't forget you're in the developing world.

The room was o.k but need to clean the room specially toilet. There is a bad smell coming into
the toilet probably from sewage....

No outgoing phone facility in the room...

Restaurant food is o.k and the reception service is o.k too.

This place was amazing and friendly. The staff were great and the rooms big and comfortable. The only little critique is that occasional blackouts occured, but due the rebuilding after a war, I guess you can't expect tooooo much!

The food is delicious and plentiful and a pretty good price given that it's at the hotel and the room service is great as well. I recommend the devilled fish and the vanilla milkshakes!

Room Tip: Must visit Prabakaran's house while in Jaffna!

Took two DBL s for a nights stay..
Not bad...comfortable stay..Spacious rooms..Clean & Fresh
Rooms need touching up - specially the ceiling...Extra bed was supplied with out a fuss.
Good Satalite TV channels... all South Indian channels ...no complaints as we had what we wanted...
The Breakfast - Jaffna Breakfast - was the best string hoppers I ever had,...Fresh big warm & soft...Fish curry...again very fresh & tasty... Great eye opener..for the day to begin.
Even bit of over priced for a String hopper Bfast....

Room Tip: Look for a upper floor rooms....

Me and family visited in mid of April and decided to stay in Tilko Jaffna Citty hotel, We didn't book any thing in advance and initially went to green grass hotel to check in, The staff was not help full at all there and could not speak english. so we decided to to try Tilko Jaffna hotel. The area was beautiful and the reception was very clean and modern. There was no comparison between green grass hotel and tilko Jaffna hotel as Tilko is a star class hotel while green grass is more of a guest house. The staff welcomed us straight away with good english. Whilst we were checking in the Luggage porter looked after our luggage and placed the bags straight away in our room. our room was on 1st floor and was very clean.
I have no idea after reading the below review that the carpet needed to be replaced as it was very neat and clean. the towels and sheets were fresh and room smelt very good. Also AC was turned on and the temperature was perfect. There was no sign on Mosquito in the hotel but there were mosquito outside. first night we had meal in the restaurant which was very good, try there Crab curry and briyani. Mind blowing.
Owner of the hotel greeted us in the restaurant and offer us city tours in their AC coach, next morning. We booked the excursion and loved it so much. they took us around Jaffna city and showed us all main attractions.
We stayed for 5 nights and loved every single bit of it. Owner was telling us that he is actually going to build European standard swimming pool which will be a great asset to the hotel. The owner was very friendly and well educated gentleman from London.
I dont know why some of the reviews mentioned before that they charge 100 USD per night when they only charge 75$ including breakfast as their standard. I was shocked to learn the history of Jaffna that how much this city suffered during the war and the hotel is creating jobs for the locals. I did some home work on the owner and found out that he has given up comfortable life in London and decided to come and create employment for the locals and encourage other foreign investors to invest there.
