There are some pictures which clearly show how bad the impact was. So stunning. They still have the foundation of the old house which was washed away.

The museum gave clearer picture of the tsunami tragedy happened in 2004. It displays gaphic photos taken during tsunami. You need to pay entrance fees! Cannot remember how much. You also need to open your shoes in the museum.

We stopped here on our trip down to Galle and it was most memorable and important part of the day. Very informative and shocking. I was so appalled to see the true figures of the day, the scale of loss in countries other than Thailand and hear how little help they received from outside aid in comparison. The photos really do give you a picture of the devastation caused, especially the covered wall. Both my partner and I was stunned into silence. Absolutely worth the visit and will not take up so much if your day that you can’t fit it in along with everything else.
