The hotel is just lovely. The rooms are suites with a large sitting area, sleeping area, bathroom, and balcony with two chairs, a large day bed, and a plunge pool. The service was first class as was the food. The pool area was nice; the only downside of the hotel, not their fault, was an inability to go in the ocean because of the undertow. There are only 12 rooms and many of the guests seem to be invisible. This is just for relaxing as there really isn't much else to do. There are some off grounds activities, but I had just toured for over two weeks and didn't need any more.

Room Tip: Book early and take an ocean front room.

Five-star wannabes abound in Sri Lanka. Situate yourself on the beach and offer a spa and raise prices and peg yourself to five-stars. But may hotels haven't earned that classification. The Aditya has. It is renowned among people North and South of Galle as the best place to stay; in fact, as soon as you say you are a guest at the Aditya, people remark on its wonderful service. Of course Sri Lanka is filled with great beach locations. And this one is remarkable. The views from the rooms are spectacular sunset-facing beach vistas with sparse waving palms. But the real reason to choose this venue *is* the service. The staff are well-trained, attentive, and personalized. They figure out what you want and steer you gently to what you need. A driver, a stroll in Galle Fort, a kid-friendly menu choice, a free room upgrade, the better-value Sauvignon Blanc. The list is endless. Lastly, we are a couple with two kids, including one special needs child. While it may have been a little noisier for other guests, the staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome and to accommodate our needs.

If TripAdvisor allow you to rate a property a six, I'd rate the Aditya a seven.

We stayed at the Aditya for four nights after ten days sight-seeing across Sri Lanka. We were in the Mitra room which is vast and has the advantage of a terrace where you can sit, watch the view and see the sun go down. It is a small hotel in terms of guests which gives it an exclusive feel, and means there's always lots of space around the pool, in the grounds and in the common areas. The staff are discrete and very attentive. The dining room is open and the food excellent. We really enjoyed the fresh fish especially the sizzling tuna. The hotel is a little dark which gives it atmosphere especially in the evening when everywhere is lit by candlelight and even the menus come with small lights attached! It's a short tuk tuk ride into hikkaduwa which we did once, but there's not a lot to see, so we enjoyed just relaxing at the hotel. The trip to Galle is rather long by tuk tuk so best to arrange a tour separately. This is a great place for complete rest and relaxation on a peaceful environment. Don't come if you are looking for activities or want to go into Galle regularly.

We stayed two nights at the surya suite. The suite was breathtaking! The space and design is very unique. We enjoyed every meal we had during our stay. You can have any meals at any time and at any place wether to your room or on the beach! The service is excellent. The staff is very attentive to details and to our needs. It was an unforgettable stay and surely look forward in coming back!

Stayed 2 nights, one in the garden room which is charming and one in the penthouse which is split level with a view of the ocean from the bed and an outdoor roof top jacuzzi. Saw the other beach rooms as well and I'd go for the garden room instead. There are only 14 rooms so lots of room where you don't feel crowded anywhere with other guests. This is definitely a 5 star hotel and I can't wait to go again. It's about 15 mins from Galle in one direction and 15 mins from hikkaduwa in the other. There aren't many options for eating outside of the hotel so you'd have to go to one of these places if you want a change of scenery. Everything, including the staff, were great but the food could be improved to meet the rest of the experience.

Aditya is a very special place. Being a small boutique hotel you get a very personal level of service. The emphasis is on low key professionalism and doing what they do well and I am pleased to say they do it well. The food is of the highest level we have had in Sri Lanka and is one of their strengths. If you have a preference they accommodate, they do little extra things seamlessly and it makes a difference. This was my third visit to Aditya and it will not be my last.
Again all the staff go the extra mile to ensure you are happy and enjoying your time with them. I have no criticism at all of Aditya, in fact I feel very lucky to have found this place, leavening Aditya you feel your batteries are recharged and that you have had a special time! I hope to be back soon and thank you Shamindra and team Aditya for another special stay with you.

The hotel is located along the main road but a little bit outside Hikkaduwa. The contrast between the busy road and the tranquile hotel is striking. The long alley filters away all the sounds and you would think you are on a deserted island. The hotel is beautiful and the beach is clean and there are very few other people than hotel guests around. The pool is a nice complement to the beach, because the swimming conditions flag seems to be red every day.

Food is very good and the menu extensive, with many good alternatives for children. You can also get half portions for the children. The rich (American) breakfast is served to the table and is very good, but takes a lot of time since you get only one dish at a time.

Service is excellent all over, from the front desk to the room boys and staff seemed genunily happy and interested in the wellbeing of the guests. There were a couple of mistakes in our restaurant bills, but they were corrected without any fuss. The hotel manager and the chef greeted everyone personally for a little chat during the first day, which was very nice.

There were some mosquitos in the room at night, but pop-up mosquito nets were available in the room and put up by staff, so that was not a problem. The room was very spacious and fitted our family of four and all our luggage without any problems. The bathroom was big with plenty of towels and had a plunge pool. The room had a balcony with chairs, table and an elevated corner with a mattress and cushions for taking an afternoon nap or maybe reading comfortably.

The spa was nice and a femal therapist was available (obviously not very common in Sri Lanka).

The hotel is expensive, but definitely worth a stay.
