We went to the restaurant after reading about it on Tripadvisor. It is located close to the beach at a corner of the Chaaya Tranz hotel. The guards at the hotel entrance didn't seem to know they had a restaurant by that name inside the hotel :) We ordered tea-smoked lobster as an appetizer, the chef's specialty, Crab Tranz, and buttered cuttlefish. For 1200 SLR we got a large crab, big enough for 2, cooked in a fantastic, finger-licking good curry. The lobster was cooked simply and delicious. We loved the food but struggled to finish the portions. We were served a complimentary sorbet between courses as a palate cleanser. The waiters were extremely attentive without being obtrusive, providing service of the highest standards. It was a memorable dining experience and we will definitely go back if we happen to visit Hikkaduwa.
