“A great thrill!”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

The Gold plated Buddha statue is a great site to witness! Don't miss it. It was a long drive though as we stayed in Marawila but it was worth it! We didn't go inside the museum so we didnt end up paying any entrance fee.

“Heart of the Dambulla”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

This attraction is nearly one kilometer away from Dambulla city and this is a must see location if you visit Dambulla. The secret temple has a huge golden Buddha statue near the entrance and you need to climb some steps to get into the Caves where you find ancient paintings, statues of Lord Budha, stupas. Please note well that you need to wear white clothes and covered body, up to knee roll shorts and etc.

“A must see...”

Another great location to visit if you are visiting the cultural triangle. A lot of Sri Lankan culture involved with the buddhist background. It is surely a must see and you will enjoy this amazing site.

“Worth the visit”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

We researched all the tourist attractions prior to arriving in Sri Lanka and had this site on our agenda plus it was highly recommended by the locals. After climbing Sigiriya Rock the previous day, the idea of more climbing was met with a sigh but after seeing the caves, definitely worth it. We didn't have a guide and perhaps we could have appreciated it more with one, but we were happy to admire the wall art and figures in our own time. It was one of the more peaceful tourist sites to visit; we found ourselves on our own and able to really take in the detail. I just wanted to linger and take in the intended spirit of the place.

“Gawdy and Tacky”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Cant miss the extra large golden stupa and then the golden Buddha atop a building that looks like a tacky fast food restaurant. Nothing special about this place and would drive past and go onto more worhwhile sites. Feels like an amusement parks but no amusements
