This was the hotel on my tour that I was most unsure of staying in.... Wildlife... Not my thing at all!! Stayed here for 3 nights and i the first night I was petrified! The bats through the bar, the monkeys, the geckos especially when I heard a huge fight between 2 wildlife creatures at about 3am!!! However, what an experience!! Unfortunately it was quiet when we went ( us and about 4 others) so the hotel was lacking ambience and atmosphere ( no music playing at bar etc) but the staff were so lovely and really did all they could for you! I actually told the waiter that I hadn't had traditional Sri Lankan food since I had been in Sri Lanka and he told me he will arrange something. The next day was BBQ and Sri Lankan night where the chef made me my own aubergine curry as I had requested, which I thought was lovely!! Pool is absolutely huge and can imagine in prime summer it would be divine! Grounds are beautiful and you do get used to the nature element. It is in the middle if nowhere ( jungle/village) and there is no entertainment in hotel so it is early nights with nothing to do. Bathrooms r HUGE with amazing shower! Wasn't a fan of the red ants in the bathroom though! Rooms are very dark and a bit unnecessary to have an upstairs. Glad I experienced The Green Paradise, but not sure if I would return, only because I'm not a massive wildlife fan.. If u are you should 100% stay here!!!
