Kandalama is well hidden in the hills of the Sri Lanka and takes some time to get to, but the effort is well worth it. Our deluxe room in Sigiriya wing consisted of 3 separate 4 rooms, bathroom with the full view of valley and lake, oversized master bedroom, large sitting room and another large spa room, it is basically an apartment. Large windows frame mesmerising views of the nature surrounding the hotel. We had lots of monkeys around in the morning, outside of our windows. Hotel is very large, but one will only notice when walking around, from outside, building is so well designed, you would never realised there are few hundred people around. We loved the food, sumptuous morning buffet is to die for, make sure you try the local delicacy - an egg hopper, which is made on the spot by order. Add some excellent Sri Lankan curry and you are all set.
We have enjoyed the Six Senses spa services and made sure we spent quality time in the main infinity pool. There are pleasant gift shops available too. Bonus is, that hotel takes care of your personal drive, we were told the accommodation is nice by our guy.
We will come back to spend more time and to explore the natural walks and education this hotel offers.More
