“Nice pool”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

Stayed here as part of an intrepid tour. Lovely big pool and nice well stocked bar at hotel. Rooms were average and full of mosquitoes, bathrooms were basic and this is where the mosquitoes were getting in from. Fine for 1 night only

Dambulla is a drab & unexciting town. However it can be a relatively inexpensive base to launch into the surrounding attractions.

This hotel was excellent value, with good amenities. The restaurant offered reasonable meals & the bar overlooks the pools & gardens.

The rooms were quite spacious, however the bathroom needed serious updating(like every bathroom over Sri Lanka).

The pool was a real treat, in this environment.

Don't stay for glamour, stay for the reasonable rate & great location.

We stayed here for 2 nights, rooms are basic and clean enough and mosquito nets are provided over the beds. The best part for us was the pool set in lovely gardens, a great place to chill out after a hot day sight seeing. Western and Sri Lankan breakfast was offered in the morning, the Sri Lankan breakfast was great, the western didn't look up to much. Free wifi available but only in the hotel lobby. The hotel is set back off the main road so it is quiet with a nice little bar to have a drink at in the evenings.

We stopped here for lunch on our return trip from Jaffna to Kandy. It was a relaxing place despite being situated in the town with all its hustle and bustle.
We did meet a few guests who were staying overnight and were enjoying the hospitality.
A scrumptious buffet lunch was provided with a wide choice of food. The atmosphere of the dining room was great and overlooks the pool and the hills beyond. It is calm and serene. A welcoming break after a long drive.
Lunch costs AUD$6 for rice and curry and AUD$10 for buffet. Well worth the money. The food had a home cook authentic taste to it.
Very genuinely friendly staff eager to help you .

We stayed at this hotel as part of our Intrepid Tour. It was probably one of the best hotels of our trip. Rooms were clean, staff were very responsive to our needs and the food service was wonderful. No issues at all. It may have something to do with our fabulous tour guide though, he is very well respected across Sri Lanka and knew everyone everywhere.

On our way from Dambulla we stopped for lunch at this place. Lady who was at the entrance was very pleasant and welcoming...but that's it. Had to wait for a considerable time to get the attention of a waiter to take our order. Our kids ordered elephant brand soft drinks and after getting the order we noticed the unopened bottles had some particles inside. Luckily we saw it and stopped the kids from drinking...the waiter took the bottles from the table immediately and offered to bring some other brand. Food is tasteless and poor quality but the prices are not.

Would not recommend this place at all !!

Reviewed June 5, 2013

On June 5,2013 we stopped over with my friend to have lunch. We were waiting for half an hour just to get a food menu and even then I had to go to them twice to ask what food is available. Unfortunately what it says in the menu is not what you can get being a foreigner. A guy and a girl who was working in that restaurant were absolutely untrained and unprofessional in the job they were doing. After ASKING them to come over to our table TWICE so we could place an order they still didn't come, but sent us another server. After we finally got our food there were black HAIR right on top of it!!! If that what we got just for asking the service than its ridiculous!!! Those people shouldn't work at that place and regarding the food and service I would never recommend this place to anyone else. Ubsolutely discussing!!

Room Tip: Don't come to that place if you are looking for a good service.
