It seems Lord Buddha is testing us. Where ever we go the rain is following us. But we enjoyed the place.

Very big and impressive dagoba. It is worth to visit and walk around and have a closer look. However, you can't go in (the dagoba is fully filled with bricks). It is old but new colored every year (around may).

This Dagoda (pagoda) was built in 2 BC and is supposed to Buddha’s collar bone. It is a nice walk (without shoes) and the grounds are quite clean.

Visited the Dagoba site in the night, 8pm to 11:00 pm. Its important that you are in full white, since the visitors at this time are purely for religious purposes.

The dagoba and the nearby Jatavana dagoba rises up from the dark forest. The roads are perfectly laid out, so no issues in following Google map.

Perfect place to calm your mind and relive the heavenly feelings.

DO NOT go in tights, short or colorful clothing. No food is allowed in the site. You may take a piece of plastic / cloth to sit down on. Knowledge and practice of meditation would be useful to fully experience.

A must see. You'll be amazed. Ruwanweli seya was once the tallest man made building on earth. Built by King Dutugemunu. two thousand years of history.
