We just ate at this hotel as our hotel in the old town didn't sell alcohol . We went there to eat and the food was fantastic and the service was excellent . Had a great night and made our visit to that area as our hotel was not very successful.

Staff very helpful in organizing trips with very reliable and helpful guides, which is not a given. The room was clean, although quite dark, good restaurant at property, good price/quality ratio, all in all a pleasant stay!

the rooms are clean and adequate. We stayed in a triple room and it had good air conditioning and fan. the shower was a bit cold. we ate at the restaurant and the curries were great. we really enjoyed the garden and eating outside. just make sure you wear insect repellent. I have no idea about how easy this place is to find as we had a driver drop us off.

We absolutely loved staying at this hotel. Booking process was efficient and pleasurable. We got a lovely room with two double beds (and some great thick mattresses). The room was very big and clean. It was a bit dates, but looking at value for money this is an absolute gem. We knew that this was not the Four Seasons, so we may not complain about that. Warm showers, lovely garden and great food. But the very best is the enthusiasm of each and every team member in this hotel. Everyone is super friendly and nice. I would love to come back here. Lonely Planet is the reason we booked here and by all means they got it right!

We stayed here for three nights whilst visiting the ancient sites.
The staff here are very friendly and accommodating. The garden area was beautiful, which is where you can choose to dine. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The wifi is excellent. There were the normal issues of intermittent lack of water but this appears to be a Sri Lankan issue and not hotel specific - that being said the lack of water was not for excessive periods of time or terribly inconvenient.
The hotel is located a short walk from the town centre, but if you prefer tuk tuk there are plenty and will charge Rs 100 - 150.
Of particular note, are the delicious meals -the menu does not do it justice. I have added a photos of our Sri Lankan breakfast (which you must order the night before) and the rice with chicken curry - you can see that it is so much more than just rice, and this was a serving for one person! And an added photo of Sinta our waiter who was constantly smiling and provided great service.
