A welcome relief after a 5 hour drive from Colombo airport. Very clean grounds, attentive staff and cool room. A pool to die for. Evening meal was lovely, wide choice and piping hot. Relaxing place and a true gem. Even had mosquito killers in every room. Even when it rained it was a joy, the sound of the rain in the well matured grounds was memorable.

The hotel has a beautiful setting, and the accommodations perfectly adequate though not luxurious. Bedrooms are good but bathrooms look a little tired. Quality of buffet is mediocre. Staff are very pleasant but give the impression of inexperience. The pool and grounds are undoubtedly some of its key features. Staff manning the reception desk appear quite inexperienced and very slow. Not a good first impression! If management could spend funds to update Dining room(which has little to no ambience), bathrooms and provide training to the staff, this hotel has all the potential of upgrading its ranking considerably!

We stayed here for one night during a tour of the island. The hotel is well located for visiting Anuradapura etc. The cottages are set in extensive woody grounds and are very quiet. The rooms are quite dim due to the privacy curtains on the windows, but very pleasant. Each room has a veranda. The pool, which we did not get chance to use, is very big and looked very inviting. Meals are served buffet style and are good. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. A good stop over hotel, but one or two nights would be the maximum I would want to spend here. Remember, this is Sri Lanka, not London or New York. Service can be a bit "relaxed" so enjoy and go with the flow!

The ""rooms"" actually are cottages with fair space...always and everywhere there is not enough space to empty your suitcases... and well maintained. Ours was at distance from main buildings, but you need some exercise anyway. It's located far from town, but after day-trip and -tour you probably want anyway a rest and swim in it's beautifull swimming-pool. '
The buffet is with lots of variation and good quality. Wifi is available in lounch and nearby side of swimming-pool

We were looking for a decent place to stay for one night after a day of travel and hectic tour of the city monuments. The hotel met with all our requirements! We found the staff very friendly and polite. Although the vegetarian food on offer was limited, the items were tasty. The hotel itself is quite far from the city and it is difficult to go in search of food outside. There is plenty of greenery and places to walk within the hotel grounds. The walkways however, could do with some more lighting, as after dark it was difficult to walk on the pathways.

Stayed in February 2013.

Attractive garden setting with equally attractive public areas. Rooms have reasonable amenities; however, bathrooms are dated. Laundry charges are excessive. The pool area is above average. Food, including the breakfast buffet, is average.

Room Tip: Guest rooms and bathrooms need fixture upgrades.

We spent only one night in this nice hotel. The room was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately the aircon did not manage to keep it cool and dry. But the hotel area is great, and the restaurant is nice with very good food. We really enjoyed our stay here.
