My husband and I spent two nights at Kivga Bungalow and were impressed by the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The hotel is essentially a family home turned into a hotel and the day-to-day family life continues downstairs. It was nice to see the comings and goings of the family and talk informally with them. The rooms are very nice and clean, with unexpectedly nice bathrooms. Our air conditioner (like so many in Sri Lanka) was not quite up to the task, but we slept fine with the fan on. We had a balcony and a nice view of the lake, but frankly, it was too hot to enjoy them. Breakfast included lots of fruit, eggs, sausage, and toast - far more than we could eat. The owners arranged tuk tuks for us and gave good advice on places to go.
