We loved the peace, quiet and privacy that came with our fale along with being able to walk out to the beach, it was magical. Having no WiFi was healthy for us but maybe not for everyone.
The island is quite small and you can walk around the whole thing easily. Spa was nice, though therapist was a bit chatty during treatment. Kayaks and snorkel equipment were average, but also free. We did a boat tour to the island nearby and the engine failed but a quick radio call had us into another boat! Do agree with others who say the service isn’t quite on point, it’s a very laid back vibe and you have to be expecting that. Things are a bit slower and it’s not truly a “resort”.
We tried to be understanding about food selection as anything on our plates definitely had to travel, but prices were very high and meals were all pretty heavy, we got home and ate salad and veggies for days!! Would recommend bringing your own booze, coffee and snacks for your room.
The island also offers day trips for people to come and hang out which I can understand are good for restaurant/business, but it does change the vibe of tranquility and privacy.
Would recommend staying no more than 2-3 nights and then trying another Tonga location.More
