We stayed in Gwangju 2 nights so we could make a day trip to Damyang to see the bamboo and stayed at Prado. I think maybe this hotel used to be grand, but it is definitely ready for an update. The rooms were too hot (luckily we could open a window). We found the staff here endlessly polite and helpful, but the location is not great and I would recommend travellers stay closer to Chungjang which was alive with shops, bars, restaurants and people, or the U Square bus terminal which as well as being a bus terminal has a cinema, department store, and restaurants. For your money I think there must be much better places to stay.
