“Maybe choose somewhere else”
Reviewed April 24, 2011

We stayed in Gwangju 2 nights so we could make a day trip to Damyang to see the bamboo and stayed at Prado. I think maybe this hotel used to be grand, but it is definitely ready for an update. The rooms were too hot (luckily we could open a window). We found the staff here endlessly polite and helpful, but the location is not great and I would recommend travellers stay closer to Chungjang which was alive with shops, bars, restaurants and people, or the U Square bus terminal which as well as being a bus terminal has a cinema, department store, and restaurants. For your money I think there must be much better places to stay.

While the staff is very nice, the hotel isn't. The rooms are small, not too clean and way to HOT (28 C or 80F+) and with no way to turn off or adjust the heat, it's hard to sleep. The in-hotel restaurants are poor, and don't offer much variety. For my job, I do alot of traveling, and stay in many many hotels.....this is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at..
PS _ This computer isn't working correctly. The "Sleep Quality" rating I just gave above should be 2 dots......not 5.
