How it works: If you claim you are a five-star hotel then you have to live up to it - into the smallest detail. Otherwise, do not promote yourself with five stars with pure conscience, then you're just out to fool. If you do that, you say you're as good as, to take a very close example, Aman Resort. And you are certainly not, right? On the contrary, far from.
In other words, we have a bluff here and it did not take long to call.
After all, it's extremely important how you treat your customers - who have booked a five-star hotel for a dream vacation which you say you can offer. It should be said directly: the staff, from management and on, do not know how to run a five-star hotel. It was really sad conduct when we started to question various things that did not perform as promised. The list can be made so long on all things that were very disappointing. Sadly, the response from the staff was to argue against, i.e when they understood because the knowledge of English was limited. But somehow, the first thing personnel must learn should be, must be, how to behave in a so-called five-star hotel environment when it comes to service, behaviour etc. That you could really demand when you're paying a lot of money to stay there.
Daniela seriously recommended a boat trip to a bath island where - she really promised - it should be a lovely beach with wonderful water for scuba diving. After 45 minutes of waiting, we finally were able to start the boat trip (in about 5 knots) to a total disaster island where we were placed like sardines on galley sun mattresses. It was a very rocky beach packed with people. We later asked the management and Daniela herself how in the whole world she could recommend such a public beach to anyone who chose to stay at a small, exclusive hotel? Seriously, she replied: But I like it. Sigh. As a consolation, we received fruit drinks and fruit, which was then immediately were put on the bill. Double sigh.

Or, when we questioned why a family could take up the entire surface of the small swimming pool with an inflatable dolphin and a rubber boat. The answer was that the hotel today aims at a family friendly atmosphere because it didn't work out with this niche of being just a private exclusive luxury small hotel…yeah? And where did you state that on your website? Or anywhere at all?
And what about these interrogations every time we've been out? Why ask where we've been having dinner? Looking out for kickbacks, are we? And, it's not very polite to talk to your guests about other (popular) restaurants and say they serve bad food when you do not live up to the standards yourself, is it? And to bad mouth with guests, really?
We can only agree with previous guests here on Tripadvisor who questioned breakfast and menu. I mean, before lunch time we were asked what we wanted to eat in the evening because they did not have everything on the already very, very limited menu.
And the breakfast, dinners no, no - despite the lack of view, we prefer to eat well and generous across the street. And you can get that sundown view nearly everywhere else as well paying less...
Yes, certain staff really have attitude problems here. Yes, just because the view and the villa itself (formerly private) are amazing, the service is totally under standard and comparable to a three-star with plus. Replace, redo, do right - as long as you say you're five stars, you're lying properly and it will not last forever. We made another boat trip on our own and found that there are amazing beaches in level of Aman's own. We ate breakfast across the street to very much satisfaction, we ate amazing dinners at Nobu and Aman. And when they (people in Sveti Stefan, the staff at other locations) asked where we lived and we answered Villa Montenegro, we received the following answers: It does not live up to your expectations, right? And that, we definitely sign.

Room tip: Do not book at all, at least if you been to other 5-stars and knows how it should be!

When we first entered the room we were impressed, by the sheer size and the view from the balcony....it pretty much ends there. The bathroom is in need of modernising, it's huge but with a tiny corner shower, no bath tub and cheap toiletries. I spilt coke on the sheets on the first night causing a visible stain.. the sheets were never changed and we stayed for 4 nights.

The pool area is great, there is a jacuzzi which you can only use from 6pm and we were told there was a queue of guests waiting to use it so we gave up. The massages are completely overpriced at 120 EUR.

The staff are very friendly but only the manager seems knowledgeable about anything about the hotel or have a good enough level of English to communicate it.

Clearly with this hotel, you are paying for the view.

We travelled as a family, myself, husband, daughter and partner (20's). My daughter wanted to stay at this hotel after a friend's visit last year. We wee travelling montenegro over a couple of weeks and this was out little stay of luxury during the holiday.
It didn't disappoint.
Everything was perfect for us and we were treated with respect and made to feel very welcome by all staff. ( one waiter did have a little attitude but I did make them aware of this before i left jut so they knew).
The pool area and terraces were perfect.
We ate in the restaurant in one evening and the food was delicious and very well priced.
I have read that one receiver says was not happy with the 10 Euro breakfast as it was cheaper over the road. I would say if you want cheaper go over the road but you do not have the beautiful view looking over the ocean while you eat and the impeccable service.
Desk receptionist , Daniela, was so helpful and very cheerful. Her English was great too.

The hotel is not new so probably one or two things would need maybe upgrading but it was all very clean and tidy. Comfortable beds.

My husband doesn't very often say he would go back to a place but he has said if he was in need of a week of quiet he would definitely return.

Thank you Villa Montenegro.

Room tip: A room with a balcony maybe nice

Imagine an excellent quiet location on a mountain, a splendid view on Sveti Stefan resort from the romantic balcony at your modern five * room with all luxury, a fairy tale swimming pool, the super friendliness of the reception staff and the bar tenders, a restaurant with outstanding "a la carte" and dito wine list...and you believe every second to be in heaven...with you angel...

Room tip: Reception staff and management are at your disposal weeks before your arrival

We were privileged to be able to stay at villa Montenegro on our honeymoon, we had a beautiful suite overlooking the ocean. The staff were so welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. With amazing food, cocktails and views we had a lovely time and would highly recommend this place. We hope to return one day
