“Kotor is far better”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Small walled city with pleasant tourist shops. Nice cafes along the water. The walled city experience is 1000 times better in Kotor or Dubrovnik, but this was a pleasant place for a late lunch

“Fantastic place”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

I am impressed with the old town in Budva. There are fantastic restaurants with good food, especially fish and seafood, great shopping and nice people. There are a lot of cosy pubs and bars as well... I really recommend a visit to this place if you visit Montenegro.

“Montenegro nightmare”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

We booked 2 weeks at the same time as Italy goes on holiday in August 2012. It took over 3 hours to cross the border from Dubrovnik, it was like something out of the Victorian ages, the road ran out and became a track, no shops and useless, lazy and inefficient border staff. Budva is a tip, it's like Blackpool but the food is worse, the streets are dirty and the beach is grim. Get outside Budva and there is some beautiful countryside however Budva and Becci are like 3rd world towns with disco music blaring till 4am with the sound carry for miles. It takes an age to get into Budva old town at night and it's impossible to park. Unless you can afford to spend thousands of euros a night to stay at Sveti Stefan forget any idea of this being a chic destination, it's not. There is a reason Svetti Stefan is on an island guarded by a one way road with security guards! We travel the world over and were tempted by stories of beautiful people and beautiful places, trust me you will not find either in Budva.
