Stayed for just the one night last week - evening of the holiday but weirdly the holiday blues were kept away by this very atmospheric joint. As the other reviews have said this place is located in the old city walls. Our room was a good size and came with a living room - furniture was comfortable and clean. Bathroom with jacuzzi was enjoyed!

Unfortunately the roof terrace was not open as it is too cold in October. As a Geordie I was ready to strip off and sun bathe but you have to respect the locals dressed up as if it is winter. The private beach was that rare thing in the Adriatic - an actual beach with sand rather than stones. Breakfast was available next to the beach and the waiter was really really good - bringing us some extra stuff as he felt we hadn't taken enough to get value for money. If there is one thing I'd change it would be the music down there - a lounge version of The Clash mixed with some Bee Gees was a touch obtrusive.

By the time we got to this open air restraunt it was a little late, around 2pm when twenty or or so Brit's sat down, they seemed ok with this so we began to order.
Thirty minutes passed when a poor chap arrived at our table and apologised saying that as we had all ordered different meals they were under pressure!!.
Twenty minutes later our Club sandwich's arrived and they were delicious,so huge that it took some dissmantling......

So during the wait it was people watching time, couples walked up and down showing off their children,Girlfriends or clothes......great fun.
Would we eat here again?,of course but perhaps earlier for lunch.

An immaculately clean boutique hotel with excellent reception staff that go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
One niggle was that breakfast was included in our price plan and the next table had a lovely huge fresh fruit platter so I asked for that, only to be told that was not available for the inclusive breakfast. From that we deduced that you have a limited choice if you have the included breakfast option. Neither of us have come across that before on our travels.
The restaurant staff were not as attentive as what we had been used to in Dubrovnik but we soon realised this was in no way exclusive to the Astoria.
I would recommend the hotel if you absolutely have to stay in Budva.

We stayed her for two nights at the end of a 10-days road trip in Montenegro in the end of August.

The hotel is situated in the old town with only paying public parking available. Budva has a nice old town but the large modern beach area is extremely loud in the evening with open-air discotheques. Luckily we hadn't any problems with noise in the hotel.

We were welcomed by a very friendly receptionist who lead us to a room that was already been taken. For the first night we had to be satisfied with a very small room (105) with a no view at all. He was very annoyed about it and let us change rooms the other night. 101, looking on the alley in front of the hotel, was much better.

We loved the great breakfast on the hotel's beach club. It was very elaborate (fresh fruit and juice, eggs anyway you liked, espresso...) and you could choose whatever you fancied from the a la carte menu.

The hotel's beach - although not private - was great for a day of relaxing. You have to pay 10 EUR for 2 sunbeds which is a special price for hotel guests.

The last night of our holiday we dined at the hotel's roof top restaurant. Although it was the most expensive meal of our whole trip, it was a very nice and atmospheric experience.

In short a great choice if you want to stay in the old town.

Room Tip: We stayed in a standard room. 101 is much better than 105!

Hotel Astoria plus fine beach of hotel and a load of tables/eatery all franchised in the name of Astoria hotel room ample size but not large air con strugled a bit good breakfast choice but think stomach not used to style of cooking as we in a car probably would have stayed with hindsight at one of the neighbouring towns Petrovak simply as Astoria outclasses the town a pretty good hotel with on the ball staff and a wicked Cafe Latte that is hard to beat

Very nice boutique hotel within the walls of the old town. Rooms and the hotel in general are somewhat small, but in line with similar hotels in Europe (likely considered small by American standards). Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, both in person and also via e-mail in preparation for arrival. They were particularly helpful in giving tips for pricing for taxis coming from the bus station, as drivers tend to overprice the short trip if they know you are going to this hotel.

There are some excellent seafood restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel, which also has a beautiful private beach - hotel guests get half-off the price of the daily fee for use of the beach with two deck chairs and umbrella (10 euros instead of 20 euros). Don't be surprised by beach fees in general---the neighboring private beach was charging 50 euros per day!

Generous breakfast also is included in the price of the hotel - you can choose directly off the menu, no restrictions.

Overall, very nice stay and very nice hotel.
