It is a gentle and relaxing trip spotting all sorts of different birds, crocodiles, lizards and warthogs. Pelicans are amazing!

I have visited Senegal on several occasion as a Tour Operator. One of the most popular sites visited is Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary. The area is rather far removed from a major population area and offers a perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. The migratory birds are simply an awesome sight. The most prevalent bird when we visit is the white pelican. The pelicans seem to know when we are present as they dance around the water searching for the abundant amount of fish available. You would think you are watching an olympic synchronize swimming contest.

Animals other than birds can be seen, but the most important reason to visit Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary is for the birds. Sighting of other animals is possible but none is in abundance as the birds.

We highly recommend Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary as a place to visit in Senegal. You will not be disappointed.
