Ramada Iasi City Center
Ranked #6 of 23 Hotels in Iasi
Reviewed May 1, 2013

Located in the center on Iasi, just near Pallas Mall- Ramada standards. Rooms are clean, tidy, but bring slippers. Breakfast is ok with exceptional services. Parking spot is free, a little bit difficult to reach because of the institutions near the hotel and the parking spots around- extremely crowdy.

Room Tip: Room with a view to Pallas Mall

Very central hotel, at ramada standards, nothing special regarding rooms. But... there is a very noisy disco on the -1 floors and this makes your night a nightmare!
They gave me a room on the 2nd floor (even if they know that it's impossible to sleep there because of noise)... they changed the room and gave me a 4th floor one... even there you can here the bass, ground is booming. They don't respect M&M upgrade and check in / out was very poor and long. Team is new/not trained.
Very bad experience and i would advice this hotel manager to CLOSE the hotel during the week end, in the lobby you can't even speak, it's like a disco / bar. A shame for Ramada brand!

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel during week end and if you are a M&M elite status, be advice that they do not r...

I traveled to Iasi for one day on business. The people are generally very friendly and a few cites like the Opera House are nice, this is not particularly one of the picturesque or inviting areas of Romania. It is a lot of concrete communist area buildings in a dusty urban cityscape.

I chose the Ramada because it is large, western branded hotel that i hoped would offer a full slate of business services. While the staff were tremendous helpful and friendly and really were a highlight of the hotel. I found the rooms themselves to be heavily dated, uncomfortable, and badly overpriced when compared to better reviewed options in Iasi. I have to conclude that I could have spent my 110 Euro better at other hotels around the city. Details follow:

I stayed in an upgraded executive room, with a maroon and brown color scheme, which was dark and unpleasant. The furnishings in the rooms looked like they hadn't been changed in 20 years and might remind American travelers of a roadside Ramada in the States (this is not a compliment). Instead of a work chair they provided a cheap low-backed banqueting chair that you might find at cheap conference facilities while listening to a speaker. The back of the chair broke during the night, I didn't bother to call reception although did mention it upon checkout. Hence there were no comfortable places to work.

Internet signal and water pressure were strong.

Another review posted pictures of a large screen tv, my room did not contain this and instead had two roughly 20 inch tvs, which were difficult to watch.

Room was generally clean but heavily warn.

The staff was great. I am sorry to say the hotel is overpriced and even for business travelers mediocre at best. I would advise travelers to look elsewhere in Iasi and the hotel to update their rooms and install proper work chairs, better tvs, and have more comfortable sittings areas.

I stayed at Ramada at the beginning of the month. First of all, the location is great, right across from Palas Mall. You just get out of the hotel and walk in the mall, where you can find basically all you need. The mall also has a beautiful park if you need to go for a walk or run. But you will not need to eat at the mall, because Ramada has a great restaurant. I personally recomand the pasta and the pizza. But everything on the menu is good. The rooms are clean and big enough. The desk has all the accommodation for business work. I found the tv to be a little old. That's because I usually like to connect my tablet via HDMI and watch a movie, and the ones at Ramada don't have HDMI available. I rented Tokio conference room and it's perfect for 10-12 participants, but if you have a larger crowd, you might want to try one ad the other confrance rooms.
Overall I had a pleasant stay and would recomand Ramada as one of the top hotels in Iasi.

Very big room with comfortable bed. Free wifi, tea facilities, bathrobe and slippers rtc.
Not very new furniture, but in reasonable shape
Breakfast was good, not a lot of diversity but the basic you may need (eggs, omlet, chees, vegetables, meat, sweets etc).
Recommended for business trips
I highly appreciated that they ask for feedbqck which means they care how you fell and they want to improve if needed

Business trip to a nice little city:

Pros:
1. In the heart of the city
2. The palas mall is essentially in the same parking lot- Great shopping
3. The room had a mini bar stocked with goodies and adult beverages

Cons:
1. The dual sided entertainment center had cut outs for maybe a 46" tv, but only 20" tv's were in the room.
2. Hallway carpet looks despicable, it is matted and should be replaced
3. The "Suite" I had on the 3rd floor faced opposite the mall. The view from room is that of an apartment building and all of the residents laundry, that hang laundry on their balconies.
4. No storm/ double pane window. so noise can be heard clearly from the street.
5. The bathroom was dispicable. Probably one of the single most important areas of a hotel stay is the bathroom and the bathroom in my room was gross.
* The tile on the floor and walls was probably white when it was new. Now the grout is black!
* The walls are tiled also and the tiles are clearly not clean as the grout on the walls is brown and black.
* The shower does not have a curtain, so while taking a shower it is impossible to not splash water onto the floor.....the black floor tiles.

Definitely bring shower shoes !

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Palace mall will provide a nicer view. Bring Shower shoes.

There is a club underneath the hotel and if you are staying anywhere under the 5th floor you will hear drum and base ALL flippen night long! On top of that, there is a ventilation shaft that pours out smoke from the cigarette smokers in the club. If you leave your window open at night your room will smell like smoke.
Pretty gross...
Also my room's window was able to open all the way. There was no screen or anything preventing me from going outside. If you are bringing children or even feel slightly suicidal you should probably not stay here.
The hotel is modern and well kept. The breakfast was okay, not stellar. But not being able to sleep in a hotel that is fairly expensive is not rewarding.

Room Tip: Don't get a room under the 5th floor. You will be awake all night long from the drum and base co...
