They provide a simple and cheap lodging. The owners are very hospitable and nice. If you' re in a budget, this place is for you and you will not regret it. You can cook your own food after going to the market, which is walking distance from the lodge.

Was there last year (August) with a companion for a short semi-backpacking trip and after reading tonnes of reviews, we've decided on Residential Lodge.
It only cost us RM14 (or USD 5) per person per night and we get a room to ourselves with bathrooms attached. There's free flow coffee and tea. Most importantly, the room was clean and there was a common lounge/rest area right outside of our room where anyone was just chillax or cook.
TIta Mary's son was really accommodating, even his kids were really cute and active.
Definitely will be back to Residential Lodge for my next trip back to THe Phils!

We stayed there for one night last Apr 29, 2012. Even with the absence of Auntie Mary, her son, William was so accommodating and pleasant. He attends to visitors needs. Room is so cheap, with almost complete facilities for transients. Located in the downtown, close to most tourist spots like, caves, restaurants and transportation. We stayed at the 3rd floor occupying 2 rooms. We have balcony where we can view the soroundings while having our rests from the whole day tour. It can easily be located due to its towering building and blue color. We found no problem staying that place. There were minor problems but it's tolerable as it was peak season for tourist. I highly recommend this place for budget backpackers. Thanks to William and his wife. We'll see you in our next visit there!

Residential lodge definitely!manang mary is like your long lost aunt! Free coffee in the foyer and the room she gave us had it's own toilet. Mattresses were new with clean sheets. At 250 per person.. That's a bargain. Unfortunately we can only stay for one night there.. Because the place was fully booked. We had to look for another accommodation. It was nearer the town hall and bus station but I got home with many insect bites. I should have bought insecticide and sprayed the mattress before sleeping on it.

I've been dreaming of experiencing sagada but didn't have the guts to brave the land trip! I

read all the blogs and sites that talk about sagada hoping I'd find a better way of reaching it without too much hassle. I've finally decided on the victory sleeper bus at left Manila at
1215am. Seats were comfy ( wifi working) and we woke up in the baguio station before
5am. Then took a cab to lizardo bus station..this was were the challenging part begins.. It's
an old bus, hard seats, no aircon and it must have been at least 25 years old or more. It
was a grueling 6hr trip up the mountain. We were tossed left and right in the curves but the
views outside was just beautiful! but then sagada is beyond words for me. The place and the people most specially area such a delight. Food and coffee is the best! Bana's cafe is a favorite eating place for us. Yogurt house and log cabin are over rated ( for me)... Lemon pie place is good too!

Sumaguing cave is unforgettable. It was a difficult trek but really worth it! Garrett our guide is the best. He made us feel safe and well taken cared of. Their group's office is near yogurt's house and bana's cafe. There are two accredited operators..we only tried this one. The other one is in the town hall.

We went to bontoc museum ( interesting museum especially the outdoor part ) via a rented van. There's a lady that sells suman or rice cakes near the jeepney stop in the town hall..the best ever!

We hope we could return to sagada again..hopefully a bus operator could come and provide better transport.

Room Tip: Sumaguin cave is not be missed but bring good outdoor shoes and small camera!

I was supposed to stay for one night in Sagada but ended up staying for 8!
The residential was a great value, the cleanest hotel ive stayed at in the Phlippines and the bedroom was really cosy!
It was only 250ph a night for a double bed with shared bathroom which was also really clean with hot water!

Unfortunately we got locked out of the hotel on the first night because we were not aware of the curfew.
mary was nice and stayed open later on the other nights but i felt bad about coming back late on most nights...
I would suggest going somewhere else if you plan on going out at night but just make sure they dont have a curfew! I think george doesnt have one!

You'd say people in Sagada would take advantage of increasing the price of their accomodation because the place is becoming a tourist destination. But no, at P200 ($5) only, you get a clean room, a clean common restroom, a very nice lodge owner, you get to wash your own clothes and the best thing is that you can just walk outside and visit stores and restaurants and folk houses.

You can also ask the owner (Auntie Mary) to cook for you and you'll be surprised how minimal fee she would be asking as soon as you asked for your bill.

The experience I had at this place is just amazing! Recommended to backpackers!

Fills up very quickly during the peak season. Mary (the owner) is friendly and always willing to help in anyway she can.

There's a computer with internet connection so you won't have to go far to find one. Rates are low.

Centrally located too! Plus, you can do your laundry and hang up on the roof to dry.
