“43 bed bug bites”
Reviewed August 7, 2009

I upgraded from camping and paid a tour rate of $25. The room was nice enough although the walls were paper thin and there sound effects from next door were less than pleasing. The bathroom shower which was sprayed everywhere bar myself and the toilet would not flush. Could not use camping showers as one of my friends had been mildly electrocuted earlier in the eve.
The piece de resistance was the 43 bed bug bites i recieved the next day that became infected and therefore negatively impacted my trip for the next 3 weeks. I am now also scarred from the worst of them.
They tried to tell me i had an allergy. It was room 102 if this isnt enough to put you off.
The regular staff was nice enough, manager was a brute of a thing

We stayed here for one night, to go on an overflight of the Nazca lines. The room was small. The hot water was intermittent. In every room you could hear vehicles going down the main road and from very early on the airplanes. We arrived very late and so ate in the restaurant. The food was appalling. Soup was out of a can and a supposedly vegetarian pasta dish had meat in it. Breakfast wasn't much better. Also, we'd wanted an early flight, and the hotel put us after a group of 35 Japanese tourists, meaning we didn't get a flight till 11 - if they had put us on before the large group, each of them would only have been a few minutes later, but by putting us after we were several hours later.
On the plus side...the rooms were clean. That's all I can think of!

We are a couple currently living in Bolivia and planned a three week Christmas vacation with our parents in the South of Peru using Trip Advisor as a guiding tool.
We stayed one night at La Maison Suisse before our flight over the Nazca Lines. They offer an attractive package deal for one night and the flight. The hotel is right across from the airport and about a 5 minutes taxi ride out of town. The sound from the planes is a bit bothersome during the day (not at night) but the hotel grounds are beautifully landscaped and the pool is a nice touch to relax after your early morning flight as you wait for your bus to your next destination. I would not spend a week in this hotel but as a one night stopover it was a convenient location for the flight and they pick you up at the bus station when you arrive.

  • Liked — Nice pool and gardens with hammocks
  • Disliked — Closeness to airport is convenient yet noisy

We booked a hotel and flight package through Peru-hotels.com which seemed a good deal.

We arrived late in the evening on the bus and the hotel taxi was waiting for us at the bus station. The staff were very accommodating and made us dinner late at night.

The hotel is just opposite the runway so expect some early morning noise as the planes warm up. The benefit was that the hotel arranged the flight and you could wait at the hotel until it was time to go.

The hotel was set up to deal with people who were taking the early morning flights and then leaving later in the day. We enjoyed a relaxing few hours laying in the hammocks.

The room was simple but comfortable. The accommodation was motel style. The hotel has its own bar - measures were generous. There was also a pool.

Ideal for people passing through who want to do a flight over the Nazca lines.

This was a very nice hotel; the people were very helpful. The hotel offers tours, which are pricier than the ones you would find downtown (about the same service). They also offer plane rides over the Nazca Lines. The Hotel charged us $50 (high season), but you can find them for less downtown. The laundry was expensive comparing to other hotels. The big problem I had with this hotel was that it charged us $5 per person to pick us up from the bus station when a taxi charges $1 (a 5 minute ride). I don't have a problem paying, but the hotel hired a taxi to pick us up. They don't have private transportation. They get to pay the taxi a dollar and pocket the rest of the money for doing nothing except maybe for making a phone call.

  • Liked — confortable, clean close to the airport
  • Disliked — did not clean room when they were suppose to
  • Tips/Secrets — Shop around for tours, city is pretty safe to walk around and take taxis

This hotel is right across from the Nazca airport so it makes a convenient base to wake up early & take a flight over the lines.

Otherwise its a couple minute ride to Nazca city center.

The grounds are well kept & have a couple hammocks to lounge around on. The staff was attentive & would play a movie about the Nazca lines upon request. They also have a super cheap gift shop in the lobby. 20% less sols than the big souvenier stand next door.

There was an issue with my hot water...but they promptly changed my room...without a fuss...which is nice.

I'd stay again.
