Wow! Just returned from a three week tour of Peru. The geography is breathtaking, the culture and history fasinating and the people friendly.

As a member of the South America Explorer's (SAE) Club, I asked the manager of the Lima clubhouse for a recommendation on Mystery Peru Tours. He gave them an excellent review and we were not disappointed.

Enrique Lévano is the owner/operator of Mystery Peru. This company offers professional service with some of the best prices of any tour company in Peru. Our group of five did a three day two night package in the Nazca area which included a:
- boat tour of the Ballestas Islands
- guided tour of Paracas National Reserve
- Huacachina Oasis dune buggy ride
- guided tour of Chauchilla Cemetery
- guided tour of Pisco & wine vineyard
- flight over Nazca Lines
Through Mystery Tours we also hired a van and driver to take us from Nazca to Arequipa. Opting for the flexibility to start and stop at our discretion. We didn't arrive in Arequipa until after dark, which is why my friends didn't notice that their expensive digital camera had slid under the driver's seat. It was about half-an-hour after we settled into our hotel in Arequipa that my friends noticed their camera was missing. Since we knew our driver, Sandro, was not staying overnight in Arequipa we thought their chances of seeing their camera again was pretty slim. Once we realized it was missing we gave Enrique a call and within the hour Sandro double backed and returned to our hotel with camera in hand. We were so impressed. That's what I call service.

If you are looking for a reliable, locally owned and knowledgeable travel agency look no further - Mystery Tours will not disappoint.

We booked a flight from Lima to Nazca and then a smaller plane for the overflight of the lines. The Flight was delayed in Lima for almost 4 hours and we were told it was because it was foggy. It didn't look foggy to us and all the other planes were taking off. It was only later that we realized that they were honest enough not to fly us down to Nazca if we wouldn't be able to get good views there. Nazca was the foggy location; not Lima where we were anxiously waiting.

The flight over the lines was spectacular. We had studied and familiarized ourselves with the lines and their stories but seeing them was incredible. Price-wise it was our big splurge for our trip, but I wouldn't have missed it.

I would have gone up in the small plane for another flight if we had had time (and my stomach had settled enough from the first flight!)

Dear Traveler's;
While planning our trip to Peru, we researched extending our visit to included flying over the Nazcza Lines. We used the internet to find the tour that would best meet our criteria. Mystery Peru Adventure Tours, operated by Enrique Levano surpassed all expectations!. From the first on line enquiry to the end of the tour, this tour was fabulous! We received extremely prompt replies to our questions before and during the tour. When we arrived in Lima, Peru, we emailed Mr. Levano from our hotel and he called us within 20 minutes, to confirm the pickup time for the next day. Sandro, our driver and Leo our gudie were wonderfully kind, helpful and knowledgeable about the history and culture of the area we visited. We booked the 3 day tour of Paracas, Nazca and the Ballestas Islands, and it was excellent.! Mystery Peru offers a variety of different tours.Thankyou Enrique, Leo, and Sandro for all you did!

Having been to Peru 10 years ago, I was determined not to miss seeing the Nazca Lines on this trip with my wife. Our guide and travel agent, Monica Velasquez - [--] -highly reccomended - had arranged everything in advance. We even got
"the patch" for motion sickness as we were warned that the plane circles and weaves around the site so both sides of the planes passengers get their photos. It worked too!

Monica arranged a comfortable sedan fror the trip. The air tickets were in hand and we were scheduled for an 11am flight on Aero
Condor, a 12 seat [ 6 per side] Cessna with two pilots. A full flight, it took about 40 minutes from Ica to get to the Lines area.

As it was noon, there was a haze from heat and very dry vegitation on the ground so the contrast from the lines was minimal making it hard to distinguish the figures. I snapped photos like mad in the hopes that something would turn out. In the end, I had a few good shots and the rest had to be image enhansed ib "Photoshop" to be worthwhile. I was impressed that when the Co-pilot asked if we got a particular shot, I said "no" and he had the pilot swing around again so I could get it. It seemed it was over in minutes [about 20-25] and we were back in Ica again. It was a unique experience.

Monica had also arranged a local guide to take us through the local archeological / history museum. What a treat! Don't miss it!
I was amazed at the pre-Inca civilization technology, the mummy
collecting, pottery, weaving etc. Although small, it has a wealth of displays.

After lunch at Huacachina Lake, were were tired and decided to head back to Lima for a dinner date with business friends who live there. It was a long drive home [but way better than the bus!] and we were able to rest at the Antigua Miraflores Hotel before dinner. We were delighted with the planning done by Monica Velasquez who is also member of TripAdvisor - see her site at www.monicatoursperu.com or [--].

The city is terrible and very scary, but the hotels are very nice and resort style. Hotel Alegria and Nazca lines hotel both have good restaurants. The Nazca lines airplane ride is very fun and interesting. We also took a tour to see the Aqueducts of Nazca, along with somes ruins (about $10), and it was an excellent tour! I suggest that you don't stay in the city, but rather make a day visit and then move on to your next destination. It's definitely not a city worth staying to visit... very small, dirty, and not much to look at.
