We had a flight over the area and the flight was to show the main shapes (like monkey, hummingbird, whale etc). Although the flight is focused on around 10 shapes you can see many others. It is a misery that what for the shapes were meant to aim. I still keep thinking of what was the triggering reason to carve them in such a hard area!

The problem with the flight was the disorder of the companies: you do not get a reliable timing and have to wait there for hours although we had our ticket before! It took us three hours (we booked in 7 and flew at 10 am)!

“well worth seeing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2012

The best advice I got for doing a tour of the nazca lines is to go directly to the airport and haggle for the best price. A taxi from the town cost us 6 sole. We were quoted between 80 - 95 usd from different operators and you have to pay an extra 25soles airport tax. Most operators will throw in a free transfer back to your hotel although it never occurred to us at the time to ask if the cars they use have safety belts. (Very important in my opinion when you see the driving habits of the country). Dont take the first price you are quoted from the tour operator as another couple went on the exact same flight as us and paid an extra 10usd each. The trip last roughly around 30mins. Well worth a visit though!

“Good but $$$ for 30 minutes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2012

Just went straight to airport, walkin rate was quoted $85 to $90 or 230 soles, plus 25 soles tax. You can just walk to each desk and ask. Price included transfer back, although I hung around to watch the rest if video and paid 5 soles for taxi with assistance of nice lady at Air Paracas. Weather was good, had only to wait 1/2 hour (basically the next flight). Went with Air Paracas in a 5 passenger/2 pilot Cessna, pilot did not make anyone sick. Seat assignment is based on your weight to balance the plane properly. Good weather and viewing at 10 am.

You can watch a video before or after in the lobby. I do agree to review Google Earth so you know what to look for, the copilot just points.

There is a PromPeru office in the lobby.

Tip: look for the agency with the most permanent signs.

“Great fun experience.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2012

It's good to look at Nazca lines before your flight (on pictures) so you can recognize them then easily. During the flight you will have not so much time and you need to orient yourself quickly, even thought the co-pilot tells you where to look. Also, many people expect the Nazca signs to be be huge, they are impressive but not that huge. Beware also the other lines (pistas) and the mountains around. I think Nazca is a great mystery and it's impressive to see the lines, however the flight in such a small airplane is a great experience on its own ... you will feel like in some adventure movie!
