“Fascinating Ruins”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2013

We definitely enjoyed these fascinating ruins. What made it even neater was that our hotel (Kunan Wasi) found us a guide who not only took us to the ruins that are being excavated, but also stopped on the way to show us how it all looked before the excavation started. It was fascinating to see holes that grave robbers had dug and to see bone and pottery shards all over the ground. It made the excavated and reconstructed area that much better.

“Almost unknown gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013

And only 1 of over 30 sites has been excavated. Not easy to get to but don't miss this awesome site. Absolutely nothing around but desert but you can see the river valley in the distance. Not much in the way of descriptive info at the site but the caretaker was most helpful and gave us an impromptu tour, no charge (please tip) and we were the only ones there. Photos to follow soon.

“interesting if you are into history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013

Pretty interesting to see, definitely worth it if you are in town for the lines, and have at least an hour or two to spare. Lots of people breeze through nasca but I think its worth at least one night stay to see the sites like this pyramid. It illustrates that the history in south america is much more ancient than I had thought...

“Under restoration, can only view from a distance”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2013 via mobile

Interesting but unfortunately the extensive restoration work means you are somewhat unwelcome and can only view from several lookout points. Highly restored which has positives and negatives, unfortunately not much original can be explored. No entry fee at present. It's possible to get here in a taxi from town, around 50-60 soles.

“An interesting 2400 years old piramid”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013

People around the world may not know but South America has as much history and archaeologic places to see as Asia, Europe and Africa.
Cahuachi piramids is a short distance from Nazca city and we can visit it in a afternoon or morning combined with the fligths over the lines.
Only 2 hours and we can see all the complex and know a bit more about Nazca culture.
To take better pictures go in the morning, the sunligth will better show all the constructions details.
