This museum was very well worth my time. I wanted to gain an understanding of the Ica, Paracas, Nazca and Inca cultures and how they fit a timeline. This was well presented here.

The museum gives a good overview of the area with everything from textiles to a mummy but it also helped that we had a private tour guide.

If you want to learn about the New World civilizations that rivaled those of Egypt, Mesopotamia and Greece, you need to visit the sites, Pachchamac, Caral, Chan Chan and the Temples of the Sun and Moon, as well as the museums that display burials and artifacts that rivaled those of Tut, the Lord of Sipan in Chiclayo, the Ica museum, the one at Pachacamac, and those in Lima including the one in the bank, the Lorca and the Museum of Anthropology and Archeology. Limiting your visit to Peru to Cusco and Machu Picchu is like reading the period at the end of the sentence and ignoring the sentence!

the museum is really small, it wont take you long to see it all. Best part was the (intentionally) deformed skulls from pre-inca people

Nice museum, the highlights here are the well preserved mummies! and the handy crafts from cultures such as Paracas, chavin and Nazca. A nice place to visit if you are in Ica.
