What could be better for 12 girl friends, who just wanted to spend some relaxed time together, away from the city, enjoying each others company, great conversation in the summer of the Peruvian Sierra?

Well, the perfect choice was Cuesta Serena Hotel. It is beautifully decorated with Peruvian colorful elements, with the most awesome views of the "Huascarán" and the "Cordillera Blanca". Each room has a different decor, making each one, unique and special.
Mariana, the owner and her staff made us feel more than welcome, She organized Yoga lessons, meditation, acupuncture, massages, Astral chart reading, Reiki, apart from other day excursions.
The food was great, all home made, with local and some home grown products, beautifully set on the table, situated on the terrace with breath taking views!
Another convenient fact is that the airport is only minutes away from the Hotel, not that this interrupts the peace of the property, since there is only 1 flight every other day.
I definitely recommend this hotel and plan to return just to hang around and recharge myself of positive energy that this amazing place provides! Thank you Mariana making our trip so perfect!

it is almost impossible to explain how happy we were with Cuesta Serena. as soon as we arrived, the hotel took our breath away.
1. The hotel- the views form the hotel and the grounds are incredible. everywhere you look you are in awe of the mountain setting, as well as the perfectly kept grounds, the care and passion that goes into the decor and the landscaping. and it also didn't feel like you were tucked away, the hotel integrates well locally. get the yellow room if you can. views of mountains from all windows, the sunrise is phenomenal.

2. service- Mariana and her staff are amazing. when we arrived she immediately checked us in and organized for a trip to maximize our experience. then she made sure the rest of our stay had trips planned with our wonderful driver marcos. once back from our amazing excursions, there were pisco sours, chilcanos by the fire, and chips, or we enjoyed them on the adirondack chairs with a view of the white mountains. the rooms were always clean and perfect, and the kitchen staff was always friendly and kind.

3. food- my mouth is watering just thinking about it. breakfasts were fresh, delicious and plentiful. dinners were flavorful, and included soup and dessert and everything was homemade and tasted wonderful. the teas and coffee was always varied and available.

we cant wait to go back...

Room tip: pick the yellow room. amazing views.

We felt immediately at home in this lovely hotel. The lovely colourful Peruvian decor in such beautiful surrounding made us feel joyful. Lovely touches were the selection of teas for complimentary self service on the terrace in local crockery as well as the home made breads and delicious breakfasts. Mariana, the lovely and welcoming owner, champions a health conscious and environmentally aware management of Cuesta Serena which is very much in keeping with our times and her menu and the local, and often home grown, products she uses reflect this. The hotel is in a very good location to explore the area and very comfortable. I recommend a trip to Carhuaz market for a fabulous insight into local life to which villagers descend twice a week.

I can't say enough good things about this place. This amazing place is not too far away from the Anta airport, maybe 15 minute at the most. Upon entering the ground you'll be greeted by 2 very friendly dogs and an amazing view of the cordillera Blanca. The ground are beautifully kept and Mariana the owner is very warm and welcoming. The room are very spacious and most of them have great mountain views. We flew in early and checked in early around 10 a.m. Mariana was gracious enough to let us check-in and she also offered us an amazing breakfast and delicious coffee, much needed after an early morning. The food is locally sourced and the jam and bread are fresh. The hotel does a great job in sourcing it produce from the community.
After breakfast and ogling at the mountains we left for our room. The room was spotless and the decor was beautiful or room was very quiet and our bathroom was large with hot water a nice edition as the climate is cooler. Dinner, as breakfast was, was top notch!! The chefs flavors were superb and my wife was really pleased with her vegetarian option, very tasty and filling. Mariana does a great job of providing wine and craft beer. We had the peruvian red one night and some beer the next evening. The Sierra Andina craft beers were incredible!!! The staff always welcomed us every morning with a warm smile and were always friendly. I highly recommend this place for the price value, the care they take of their guest, superb food and it's amazing views. Local hiked and tour can be arranged through Mariana and I do recommend taking a drive to lake llanganuco as a acclimatizing hike if your thinking of doing the cordillera Blanca. On the way back stop at some of the small towns, Yungay's sacred cemetery were in 1970 an earthquake blanketed the whole village and Carhuaz were you can walks though this sleepy village. Thank you to everyone at Cuesta Serena for making it a serene, incredible experience!!

Room tip: request the room with the panoramic view of the mountain.

This is one of those places that turn out to be much better than you could have expected.

Fantastic views, immaculate grounds, friendly staff, good food, relaxing environment. Our room had the most beautiful of views.

Awesome pointers for excursions, surrounding area filled with surprises.

The owner Mariana made us feel at home. We shall return!
