Description: Whether you send your appetite to India or Thailand, the fiery curries at this English-run hotspot will seize your taste buds upon arrival, mercilessly shake them up and then spit them back out the other side as if you've died and gone to chili heaven (hence the name). They also bottle their own hot sauces here and bring in loads of beers you don't often see. Critical comida peruana antidote.

This restaurant was a real find. I love spicy food and the Indian dishes were outstanding and tested my heat limits. The Jogan Rosh was outstanding, better than some I had in Dehli. Owner also waits tables and for a Brit was very talkative and helpful!!!

Had 3 meals at this restaurant. All were great! Was a little pricier than most typical meals in Huaraz but is more like a western style meal that you crave after a fair few menu del dia's.

Lots of people seem to think this place is rather good, i disagree. Having spent several months in India before 2 months travelling in South America i missed Indian food and based on the Lonely planet and Trip Advisor reviews this place seemed like a god send. The menu has a very limited range of the typical British Indian curries, the 2 dishes that i tried lacked any depth of favour and where very basic. The chapatis listed on the menu are also not chapatis but tortillas and poor ones at that. Understandably this is Indian food in Peru and you shouldn't expect too much but if you a genuine lover of Indian food you will be disappointed. It is also particularly expensive given the quality, do you self a favour and head to one of the many local chicken restaurants and have a tasty meal for a quarter of the price.

This is a quiet, laid back place. The menu is quite small - which I always think is a good sign. The food was clearly freshly cooked, tasted great, and is good value. It wouldn´t hurt the staff to smile once in a while though.

Having read lots of good reviews about this place and being curry fiends we were left pretty underwhelmed by our Chilli Heaven experience. Perhaps we went on an off night but the service was extremely slow (it took almost 25 minutes before we got our drinks & that was only after we had asked again) and the curries themselves were fairly average and certainly not anything special...especially considering the price of them (£8-10 each). The table condiments (various chilli sauces) were a nice touch and pretty good to be fair...but overall we felt pretty jibbed in the value for money stakes here.

Again perhaps it was an off night but the owner seemed pretty flustered and generally disorganised (there was more than one head in hands moment where obviously something had gone wrong with orders and he even had to come back to us 40 minutes after we ordered to ask what we were having) but our biggest gripe is that this is no excuse to be curt and offhand with customers as he was with us and a couple of other tables next to us on a few occasions.

If you are travelling in Peru and are in need a curry fix then having been to both we would recommend 'Korma Sutra' in the San Blas area of Cusco over here as the service was friendlier, the menu more inspiring (also using local ingredients such as alpaca/guinea pig in addition to the normal lamb/chicken/veggie options etc), the food is much much tastier/refined and it is also happens to be slightly cheaper.
