The three brothers who own this hostel make it feel like a home. It is the best travel experience I have ever had. They are a font of information, very friendly and the price is wonderful. Highly recommended!!

Nice hostel. Clean and cheap. They are also very hulpfull with sorting out trips/hikes. You can rent all your stuff there and leave luggage when you are on the hike. Big kitchen were you can cook your own meals and they have free coca tea. Good option for Huaraz.

Its a nice Hostal, central but noisy from 6am to 10pm. The staff is very very lovely and helpful. Kitchen and Room was very clean. Hotwater and WiFi sometimes didn't worked - but the guys are always fixed it. If you stay in Huaraz you have to do the Laguna 69 hike - its just awesome!!!

We stayed here 3 nights in a triple room and we are very satisfied: rooms are big, clean and comfortable, wifi works almost everywhere, you have a big kitchen at your disposal and it's very welcoming. Benjamin and david are honest and kind explaining all you need to know about excursions. Thank you very much!
The hostel is in the city centre, close to shops and buses

Akilpo hostel is perfect for all backpackers.
The hostel is managed by the family and especially they are very kind and nice.
Benjamin and his brothers explain every tours and Huaraz history.
It is located next to the local market so you can eat & buy cheaply anything there.

Room Tip: If you just pay 5 soles more, you can stay at a private room with bath.

I had chosen three hostels prior to my arrival to Huaraz and planned to visit them all in search of spare bed, which i wasnt looking forward to as I arrived at the bus station late at night. Hostel Akilpo were at the bus station touting business, so my descion was made and I dont regret it. It is a family run hostel (brothers, cousins etc) and they all have good banter between themselves and customers in English and Spanish which adds to the atmostphere. There is always someone around if you need anything and they always do it with a smile, I havent seen any of them sad, angry, annoyed, fed up, such a cheery bunch! They offer advise on what to do with your stay and it is honest, even when selling tours. I know this as I went to other tour agencies before making a decision.
Great central location, but it is noisy most of the time, but earplugs will resolve that issue. WIFI Internet connection is generally good but sometimes it goes down in the town, this cant be helped by the hostel. Kichen has 6 ring hob, planty of surface space and a fridge. It is also the cheapest hostel I am aware of in Huaraz, there is no argument in where to stay
I became sick and they were marvelous. they bought me medicines, food, gave me extra blankets, and checked in on me whilst i recovered. It was the best place to become sick! For that , I can not thank them enough!

Room Tip: I think they are pretty similar. all have hard mattresses and each roon has its own bathroom. Maybe...
