“Nice and Simple”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

The hotel was quite nice with friendly staff. The rooms are big enough but there is too much light because of the many "windows" from the bathroom and from the corridor. Besides that a very good place to stay with comfortable location!

Well, there aren't too many options in Agua Callientes, most people just stay there 1 or 2 nights while they visit Machu Picchu.
First, it was so hard to go to sleep because there are windows above the doors in the room that let in all of the light from the hall, so even when you turned the light out in your room, it looks like the lights are still on. Also, it was so loud. The window above the doos lets in alot of noise. And there is also a window/vent in the bathroom that stays open between the bathroom and the hallway, so that lets in so much noise. At 4:30 am I was awoken to everyone down in the lobby talking, eating breakfast, and moving chairs...and I was on the 3rd floor. And it's really expensive for a 1 night stay, and you get nothing for your money. The bathroom towels are old and scratchy, the toliet paper is horrible, everything is old. Which honestly, I could have been ok with one night there, I mean it's just one night, but when you look at what you pay for what you get, not worth it.
The brakfast was good and the staff was nice.

We stayed here 1 night prior to MP after arriving in AG from our Salkantay Trek. Check was smooth and the room was cute and clean. The shower was strong and we enjoyed the comfort of the bed after hiking for 4 days. Our room was on the top floor and overlooked the river. It was a nice sound to fall asleep to. Our only complaint was that the hall lights kept being turned on which would blast light through the window located above the door. We had to call the front desk twice to have them turn it off. They were apologetic and remedied the situation immediately. A small complain to overall nice 1 night stay.

the family running this inn was very hospitable during our recent 2-night stay. there was a power outage in aguas calientes during that time and they provided candles, extra blankets and luckily their water is propane heated so no cold showers! breakfast was included - juice, coffee, tea, bread, fruit, cheese, ham and eggs made to order. location is close to everything - train and bus stations, crafts market, restaurants and hot springs. rooms have modern/clean decor. highly recommend staying here!

We stayed only one night here, but all of the negative buzz about touristy Aguas Calientes really isn't deserved, and we enjoyed our room at Wiracocha Inn. The promised pickup at the train didn't happen, but I think the people running the Inn don't understand that the email associated with their site isn't working; try the other email! or call! they seem to be trying! the room had windows facing the mountain on one side, and the river on the other; what a lovely experience, to fall asleep to the rushing mountain water! the people running the place were lovely and kind, and up at 5 a.m. to ensure we got a breakfast before rushing off to Machupicchu. Highly recommend this place!

Room Tip: make sure you get a room facing the river

We checked at this place the night before our hike up to Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu. As expected, the place was simple but clean, neat and functional. The staff were very polite, as it was the case all along our stay in Peru. Our room had a nice river view; the sound of a small fall was pleasant as well. Bring your own shampoo. In all it was a good value.

On arrival at Agues Calientes our 'hotel transfer' failed to turn up at the rail station which should have been our first warning.

Our second warning was the signs of building works both beside and behind the Inn when we did eventually arrive there.

Our room was dark, dismal and damp. There was no natural light or ventilation due to the building works having bricked over the windows and air vent in the bathroom. The room stank of damp and was uninviting. The pictures of the Inn misdirects any potential clients as to what to expect. While the pictures may have been factual two years ago, todays reality is sadly different and a complete let down.

We dropped off our luggage and took an hour to find another hotel to move to. We never bothered unpacking.

Room Tip: Honestly, stay somewhere else.
