One night at the Jardin Real - which is really a hostal and not a hotel - was part of the 2-day tour to Machu Picchu which we had booked via a Cuzco agency.
The hotel's website stated that the price for a double is 50$, which I think is definitly overpaid for what you get.
The staff at the hotel is friendly and helpful, but the room was small and the furniture quite old. The room had not TV, but a private bathroom with shower. To get hot water, you had to let the water running for several minutes before it warmed up. But the really bad thing about the rooms was the smell (like there was a dead animal somewhere, but we couldn't find one) - first we thought it came from the bathroom, but that didn't seem to be the case, and during the night (which was cold, and there is no heater) we even had to sleep with an open window because it smelled so terrible.
The breakfast was nothing special, but ok. The location in this tiny town is also ok, and the room was quiet.
