Please note that this is not a hostel, but a hotel. I would never stay at a hostel with 2 small children in tow. On to the review:

The staff here is extremely helpful and welcoming and I truly appreciate all the assistance they offered; all with a smile. They helped with a situation that had nothing to do with their hotel and went out of their way to make sure everything was good before we departed on our trip back. They stored my son's amoxicillin until we had to depart and even provided ice to keep it cold on the trip back. It's little details like that that makes one truly appreciate the service at an establishment and makes a trip go smoothly on a bumpy road. Aside from their wonderful service, they also had a good breakfast buffet. Cereal, fruit, yogurt, bread, coffee, milk, tea, meats, cheese and eggs are offered. My two children really enjoyed it (they're 2 and 5). The rooms are small, but it was only for one night, which was perfect. The water was nice and hot...it felt great after a train trip with 2 kids! Hearing the river at night was really nice and relaxing and the view was beautiful first thing in the morning. Only downside is that you can hear people going in and out of their rooms; and since buses depart for Machu Picchu at around 5 am...well, there was no need for an alarm to say the least. Loud enough to wake me and my husband up, but not loud enough to wake the kids. The buses are walking distance and you can chose to pick your luggage up before the train departs or have someone take it to you to the train station. They were nice enough to hold our jackets after our trip to Machu Picchu (we had checked out before we left) so we could explore the town. Everything done with a smile, which makes it wonderful when traveling with little ones!

The hotel is very old school, but the staff was extremely professional. The breakfast offering was very good and the location is on the Urubamba River and very close the the busses taking you to Machu Picchu.

A special shout out to Roberto at the hotel who made our trip seamless - you are a gem!

Average hotel but great breakfast. Avo at breakfast and omelettes to order. Lots of wifi options for free. Some rooms have little balconies. Can hear the river from most rooms - very nice. Very good service. We were in and out staying just one night.

The lobby was nice; breakfast which was included was good. Hotel room for 3 was a bit small, although all of the beds were doubles. Bathroom small and few outlets. Wifi worked fine. We were only there one night, but staff very helpful. They held our backpacks and transferred them to the train station for our designated train. That was terrific.

Room tip: Room was quiet

I had a written confirmation of our reservation. However, when we went to check in the hotel did not have it and said we should have called to confirm(which was not on any of our paperwork). The front desk manager was very helpful in trying to help us. We did get two rooms, one of which had no window and the shower door fell off. It was in desperate need of a renovation. The next day the manager helped us get the local rate for our laundry instead of the tourist rate.
