Excellent experience

Everyone at Casa del Sol was extremely kind and welcoming. Our room was comfortable, beautiful, and very clean. We had a gorgeous view of the river and mountainside and could hear the flowing river (ever so slightly) which was wonderfully soothing. Everything looks as good as or better than the photos online (we booked through Expedia). The hotel is right by the rail station (very convenient) and several of the best restaurants in town. Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend; great value for the price!

Cool view!

This place was perfect after are all day adventure in Machu Picchu. It has a very relaxing sound of the river and an amazing shower. The breakfast was also very good. There were also able to hold all of our luggage after checkout.

Perfect except for the train fumes

I would have given this 5 stars except for the fact the fumes from the trains filled the stairwell and filtered up to our room. We were on the 5th floor and a few times the room was not even habitable. Staff MUST keep the stairwell windows closed at all times. Seriously. Nail them shut.

Otherwise I would highly recommend this place to anyone who visits Machu Picchu. It is very upscale and the view from the restaurant was terrific. We had a suite and it was fabulous. Huge breakfast. Dinner was pricey so we did take-out at the little restaurant next door. Walk outside and you are steps away from the bus station, train station, restaurants and alpaca bazar. And lo! they have plenty of English TV stations. Luxury all the way.

Room tip: It's expensive. suite cost $233 per night. But worth it for a once-in-a-lifetime splurge.

Dear guest:

Thank you for the time it took to share your experience. In reality, the contamination of the trains is clearly the responsibility of the railway company, however I comment that it is not usual for them to have this type of inconvenience, their case is totally isolated. I understand that the trains are constantly being renewed to avoid pollution in the Peruvian District with less pollution, which is Machu Picchu Pueblo.

Cancelled booking without any reason

I booked 4 rooms for my family 3 months in advance. I communicated with the hotel 2 months in advance by email regarding a couple of activities and confirmed the booking with them. Nevertheless, without any explanation, 3 weeks before my trip they cancelled my booking. Only reason they gave trough the online travel operator is that they overbooked the hotel. I sent an email asking the hotel why they had confirmed the booking and 2 months later cancel it without any reason. They did not even reply. One of the worst customer service experiences I have had in Peru. Do not even think on going here.

We want to thank you for your comment, these remarks help us to get better in many ways although we would like to point something out, We didnt cancelled any reservations with out reasons and we answer all the e-mails, with a accurate staff. We have a Channel Manager who help us to manage the reservations with out inconveniences. Some times the OTAs have inconvenience in your system but we can resolve inmediatelly relocating the reservation. We hope you can indicate comunicate and call to our Reservations Department directly, and we will be happy to confirmed you the reservation.

Great hotel and location

A great hotel with lovely rooms and bathrooms (with a bath!).
Bed was very comfortable and a lovely view from the room.
Food in the restaurant is excellent, as are the breakfasts.
Staff are very helpful and professional, with a special mention for Fernando and his great taste in music.
Thanks for a lovely stay.
