...you must experience i in person. This place may be the hotel of my dreams. The grounds are intertwined in a lush garden. I felt like a kid in a treehouse playground. The room I stayed in was quaint but comfortable. There was nothing over-the-top about the room, but that was what I liked. The room was clean and the mattress was comfortably firm. The room had no TV which I found refreshing. The huge windows and walk out balcony (with seating) allowed beautiful views and natural light.
Service was friendly, accommodating and competent. In the restaurant I had the best risotto ever (better than risotto in an unnamed Italian Michelin star restaurant). Everyone in the large group I dined with also raved about their food. Spa services are available, but I didn't get a chance to partake. The orchid nature walk and bird watching tour are worth doing if you have time.
I honestly can not think of what I liked least about the hotel. I plan to stay here again and would recommend to a friend.

A brilliant hotel in nearly all respects. The initial welcome was one of the best I’ve experienced, with a full and personal briefing. We both went on the early morning bird walk, and I liked the guide so much that I went on her general environment walk later (actually she swapped with another guide who was rota’ed for something else at my request!). Absolutely excellent and all activities are included. We only stayed one night; on the first day we went, of course, to Macchu Pichu and on the second stayed at the hotel till we had to leave at 3PM for our train.

We had time for a delicious lunch, worth the money for the quality, and a short sit in the outdoor warm pools. I said nearly perfect – the fly in the ointment being, well, the flies. Which were numerous and biting during the day, worse than Amazonia or Manu. They must have waited for us to get out of the water because we picked up bites just getting dry and dressed before we could re-deet.

The gift shop was fairly expensive, of course, but still 25% cheaper than the train for calendars and books. A radio and drinks facilities would have been nice in the room, but if we'd had the time and money, I would love to stay for longer (except for the biting insects).

On 12 acres near the river of the Sacred Valley. Rooms were charming, service was excellent. Right at the base of the mountain a short walking distance from train, you enter this charming hotel with bird and butterfly guided tours and private orchid garden.
Cozy rooms and Andean sauna's- an igloo made of bamboo and filled with fresh eucalyptus leaves.

We stay here 2 nights on Sept 23rd & 24th and it was a wonderful stay. (myself, wife and 2 grown children)we had 2 rooms. I upgraded to this hotel 2 weeks before we arrived and it was a great move on my part. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the food and service were first class. After a long day at Machu Picchu this was a great escape to relax and enjoy the beauty of the grounds. We enjoyed taking a guided tour of the grounds and saw alot of birds and many of the 370 types of orchids they have. We enjoyed resting our bodies in the hot pool after all the walking we did at Machu Picchu. The food was excellent with many choices for both breakfast and dinner and the lounge area for drinks was inviting and you felt right at home sitting in front of the fireplace. We stayed 2 nights and am very glad we did. If you can afford to stay here or want to treat yourself this is the place to stay. It is on the edge of town away from the hustle and bussle of town. This was one of our favorite hotels that we stayed in for our 2 week trip to Peru.

Lovely hotel situated near base of Macchu Picchu that is well designed to accomodate nature lovers, especially birders. Although I didn't try their spa, this is a great place to relax and indulge after climbing the "big stairs" of MP. I found this a perfect retreat to simply sit and watch all the bird life going on around the lodge. A must see/stay place to visit. Enjoy!

Just a short walk from the train station, the hotel is set in a tropical garden setting with masses of orchids, birds and butterflies in the gardens. An eco-friendly hotel, they grow many of their own foods, and have a strong recycling and conservation program. Large rooms are in small buildings with just a few rooms each scattered throughout the grounds. Great views of the river and rain forest from the restaurant including outside tables. Many free guided walks and talks by experts on plants and wildlife. Rooms were spacious but no TV and only a space heater. Slow internet.
