We stayed at this property while traveling with a tour group. Our room had a lovely corner fireplace, which one could have lit. The entire property was beautiful, and the food at the restaurant was fine. The only negative was the pool needed to be cleaned. Wish we could have stayed longer and just enjoyed the property. Also, the lodge has a bird watching walk in the mornings, which would have been fun to do. Would love to stay again

Dear guest,

Thank you for sharing your kind comments with us. We are glad that you keep great memories of your visit and would like to thank you for your kind comments for our ambiance, location, excursions, rooms and restaurant.

About the plunge pools, they are filled with spring water and as they are located outside in the main garden, wind usually spreads nearby tree leaves into them, but they are continuously removed by our staff.

It would be a pleasure to welcome you again at any of the Inkaterra properties, thank you for staying at Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel!

It is expensive. But it's the best option in Aguas Calientes. Breakfast and dinner at high quality are included and you can relax in the pools before or after visiting Machu Picchu. The rooms are clean and charming and the area is surrounded by nature.

We were very warmly welcomed to this hotel after a 6 day hike along the Salkantay trail. The staff were excellent - friendly and informative. Porter service was provided to and from the train station. The hotel itself has a lot of character and is set in lush gardens with nature trails. The location is good - near the train station and the bus to Machu Picchu but on the outskirts of town which made it quiet. Breakfast was excellent as was lunch and dinner. There's a choice of two places to eat - the dining room or the cafe across the railway line. Communal areas are very pleasant and relaxing and there is good wifi throughout the property. Guests were treated to a welcome Pisco Sour on every day of their stay. The rooms are in villas in the grounds. Our room was spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. The bathroom was also of a good size. However there was a musty smell when the windows were closed and, being on the ground floor, the room lacked privacy as other guests walked past the large windows. There was a safe which was strangely located deep inside the wardrobe making access to it difficult and we found it to be too small for our needs. Two bottles of water were provided every day. Being surrounded by plants there was an abundance of flies. The hotel provided an electric mosquito repellent as well as bottles of citronella which was a nice touch. All in all we would highly recommend this hotel.

Our time here was too short! As part of an organized tour, we were only booked for two nights. The beauty and offerings of this hotel warrant at least an additional night or more. I skipped the orchid tour, bird watching, and spa in order to maximize time at Machu Picchu.

Hotel is really well located close to the buses and train station, but despite this, is incredibly peaceful, restful and quiet....just what you need after a hectic day exploring Machu Picchu. It's set in its own nature reserve, which makes it all the more special away from the hustle and bustle of Aguas Calientes itself. The rooms are spread out around the hotel grounds, just a short walk to the main communal reception, bar and dining areas. The bar was particularly lovely, with comfortable sofas spread around into lots of nooks and crannies, with a couple of fireplaces adding to the very relaxed atmosphere. Rooms were rustic, but still well appointed and very comfortable. If I was being very picky, probably the only thing I'd change was the fact that the shower area was open to the rest of the bedroom, so didn't offer too much by way of privacy! But it all adds to the experience. Restaurant offered a very good fixed menu each night, albeit in two sittings. We opted for the late sitting so as not to be rushed. The grounds themselves are stunning and very well maintained, with a lovely walk into the nature reserve running alongside the river. Staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. All in all, loved our two nights here.

We checked into the Inkaterra after spending the day at Machu Picchu! What a wonderful surprise to walk across the bridge linking the hotel with the town! It was like walking into a beautiful jungle oasis! We found the lodging comfortable and first rate! The food at the restaurant was delicious! The staff was friendly and very attentive! So much to see and do on the property! We went bird watching early in the morning and learned about the Spectacled bears that they rescued! Wish we could have stayed longer!
