The previous reviewers have had the EXACT same experience as me. Just wish I'd had good internet connection so I could have used TripAdvisor to read the reviews before I landed here. Same story... people outside beg you to come in. The guy in particular told us that we'd get s./10 Pisco Sours and s./10 (10 soles) for nachos. (By the way, their "nachos" were fried tortillas with a few sprinkles of cheese on top.) We got the bill at 51 soles. We objected, of course, and they dropped the total down to 36 soles. After reading this, I see that this tactic is very typical for this restaurant. The place just next door (connected to the same building) is Hatun Runa Grill and did not overcharge us and had better service, drinks and food at the same ACTUAL prices.

They begged people to come in and we chose this one because of the ambiance alone. Food was edible, but certainly not special. Service was slow (mom and pop op). The biggest surprise however was when we received our bill and were charged an extra 20 soles for tip/tax!! We were never forced to pay tip at any other restaurant in Aquas Calientes and tax is not 10%. Scammers...

Pay attention if you are planning to have a dinner or a lunch in this nice place in Aguas Caliente's main square.
They are really unfair.
We choose this restaurant because seemed very nice. We had a dinner (4 people) and the food was quite good, nothing special.
But at the end of dinner we had a bad surprise, in the bill they added 29,05 soles for taxes and services.
We started to discuss, because in the menu was not written that taxes were not included and in any case in any other Peruvian restaurant there is this entry in the bill...
At the end we paid because we were so tired and 29,05 soles are few dollars for us, but this situation has been so unfair, we really felt cheated!

Aguascalientes has many restaurants to choose from and there are people hounding you on the streets to try their restaurant. We chose this one because of the location and the balcony overlooking the main square. However looks are deceiving.

We had two different dishes to share and both left us wishing we had ordered another item. They were dry and lacked taste (especially for Peruvian cooking).

We also got a nice surprise on the bill where over 20% was added to the bill for "taxes" which after clarifying was the mandatory tip. The bill was more expensive than the 5 * restaurant in other towns.

Save you money, eat somewhere else. It seems o me the more popular restaurants are along the tracks not in the square.
