Pros:
The terrace is a lovely place to be. I liked the recycled chairs and table, and especially the plant in a used rice cooker.
Convenient location, pretty close to the train and bus stations. But then again, maybe Aguas Caliente is just small.
4 a.m. breakfast.
Laundry could be washed and dried in only three hours.

Cons:
NOISE. Although the signs said that quiet time is 10 p.m., the family owners were the ones who violated this rule.
Lack of designated changing area. The bathrooms and showers were just open. This would've been OK if there were additional space inside the showers to change and such. However, this was not the case.

This hostel was not our particular choice first off - it was a part of a package that we booked in cusco so we were told this is where we were staying.

Very organized overall as we were told someone from the hostel would be at the train station at 11pm to meet us and they certainly were there and walked us to the hostel. Very friendly and welcoming.

Super close to both the train station and bus station to machu picchu so that was a bonus. We were in a room with 8 beds which was no problem at all regarding in room noise. late at night all you can hear is the noise from the common room outside our door/window... Quiet hour is ten but this was way passed that. Room was definately not sound proof. Lockers were a problem - unless you have a tiny lock you cannot secure your belongings. We have standard combo locks and they were too big for the locker. Luckily we were able to leave our things downstairs in the common room (there is a storage room) but at the time we weren't sure it would be safe...

There was hot water at all times for us but the facility in general is a little disappointing... The bathroom and showers were combined and co-Ed which is fine... But did not like the fact that there is nowhere to change before getting into the shower. Everything is in an open room without a door to even separate the main hallway/opening area so you have to change in front of everyone or bring your clothes into the shower with you. The two bathroom stalls that were there had no light So you cannot see a thing.. I know this is an Eco hostel but still...

Overall this is a pretty cool hostel with great decor (Really cool patio on upper floor) but could use a few adjustments/upgrades.

Super friendly staff, clean hostel, and a great atmosphere. Our favorite cheap hostel, we paied $12 each for dorm rooms- eggs, toast, coffee and bag storage included! Great information about Machu Picchu and other activities to do in Aguas Caliente.

This hostel looked very new and clean and definitely was as accommodating as possible for travelers. Breakfast starts at 4:30 and was eggs and bread with jam and butter. The woman that worked there (we only saw one staff member) was always asking us if we needed anything and gave us recommendations of places to have dinner. When we returned from Machu Picchu we had already checked out, but she let us use the showers anyways (maybe she smelled us and realized it was an emergency situation).

My only complaint would be that all of the travelers in my dorm room went to bed at around 10:30 since we were all waking up early to either catch the train back or go to Machu Picchu, but the staff stayed up much later with the TV on pretty loud.

Although this is the cheapest hostel in Aguas Calientes the awesome staff and great beds made it one of the best places to stay. Theres a nice vibe about the place, some cool art on the walls and the terrace is an excellent place to chill out after hiking with a beer or pisco sour. Breakfast is good and starts at 4.30.

Big props go to Angie and Florencia, Angies pretty much running the place by herself!

After an extensive research I decided to booked this place for the bohemian environment they offer. My expectations were already low since this is a hostal but it didn't help. They charged us $80 for one night in a private double room, which is very high for what we got: The room private double room doesn't have any air circulation nor windows, they do not have a fan for you to use. So, if you close the door you feel no air and if you open it, the pee smell and lights on from the bathroom are going to make your night a nightmare.
The room have a bad smell which sometimes gets worse since is located in front of the bathrooms, this bathrooms are not enclosed, and they're unisex, so all the guest are going to be using it, and during the night time pee smell was coming to our room.
They also do not enforce the quite time, which is suppose to start after 10 pm. So, don't forget your earplugs or you are not going to be able to sleep early as you need to if you are going to take the earliest buses to Machupicchu.
The bed covers had some white stains on it (...), and the floor needed to be cleaned, it had lots of hairs and dust balls under the beds.
The sponge and soap in kitchen were nasty and you are suppose to wash your own dishes too, using that.
The staff attention was friendly.
The best part is the terrace.
I certainly do not recommend this place. And I am not a spoiled backpacker, I believe in cleanliness!

Room Tip: go somewhere else.
