Cactus is a very conveniently located restaurant on Victoria Island, suitable for both working and social lunches.
I often go alone for a hunger pit-stop, with friends, colleagues or a group of people. We use Cactus a lot to cater for board meetings, or parties. There is something on the menu for everyone and the portions are massive!
The menu has been recently updated with more vegetarian options and new fun dishes like the Bombay Blast sandwich plus the Cactus pizza (totally gluttonous). We really like the chicken shawarma sandwich and their Nigerian chili pepper sauce.
I like the fresh bread collection (including bagels), selection of cheesecakes and macaroon desserts.
They serve wine and beer only, no cocktails or spirits. The fresh juices and smoothies are really filling.
I see a lot of children and families there, happily tucking into pizza's, pasta's and burgers.
Payment by card system is temperamental, so it is better to carry cash.
There is a artifacts guy who has a stall at the entrance by the parrot every weekend, who sells really cute clutch handbags which can be made to order.
This has consistently been one of our regular places for lunch and take away for the past 6 years.
