It was great to cool down at this tropical oasis. The water was clean, the people nice, and food and fresh coconuts were available as well as artesan products.

I liked that there were changing rooms and little restaurant/bar to get a sandwich. The water was cool on a hot day and the fact that it was running water through a river made it seem very clean and natural

My family and I enjoyed the beautiful, crystal-clear fresh water for several hours. There are enough chairs scattered around the edge of the pool to get a seat; it didn't feel too overcrowded. We were there on a weekday, though, so I'm not sure how much it picks up on the weekend. The food options were not awesome but not awful... usual beach bar-food menu...only cold beer option was Victoria Frost that day. There were a couple of local vendors set up there selling homemade breads and craft items, too. Good coconuts available. The main problem we had here was the massive infestation of hatching or breeding flying insects (can't say I fully understood their explanation, but apparently there is a two-week period in early May when this happens, and the air is just THICK with these bugs in the Santa Cruz area of Ometepe). They were in the food, in our noses, yikes. We have a high tolerance for insects in the jungle, etc., but these things were incessant. Also, each of my kids got a bee sting while we were there for 4 hours. The staff was fairly helpful and nice, and we liked the place overall. I would just suggest visiting at any time OTHER than late April-early May :) Bathrooms were fine but definitely up a hill away from the pool, which might be too far for potty-training young ones or those who can't manage steps well. Also it cost around 2-3 US dollars to get in, and I can't remember exactly but there was a currency stipulation at the gate--we either couldn't pay in cords or in dollars, whichever we expected to use. No big deal.

Lovely spot to swim on a recovery day from hiking volcanoes. On a rainy quiet Sunday afternoon, we enjoyed it there.

Well organised and nice swimming spot - recommended. There are showers, toilets and restaurant. Chairs to relax in. Cheap entrance.
