The breakfast here is homemade with local ingredients and delicious. The balcony view of Volcán Concepción is awesome. Eileen and Darrin are friendly, informative, and very helpful. The rooms are great, with both a private balcony and common area. Two restaurants nearby can deliver dinner, and a third makes brick oven pizza that is definitely worth the trip to get it. I highly recommend it.

This fantastic B&B has great views and is set off from the main road behind trees, so it feels secluded and peaceful. The building is in excellent condition, and is located on a small organic farm. The two bedrooms are located on the second level with a large shared bathroom that has hot water. There is a shared patio and fridge, which is well stocked with sodas and beer. Each bedroom has it's own private balcony with hammocks. We would start our day with an excellent homemade breakfast from the owners of the B&B and return to a hot shower and hammocks to read and relax in. The owners are warm, welcoming, and give excellent recommendations for places to eat and things to do on Ometepe. I can't recommend this place highly enough!

Room Tip: There are only two rooms, and both are fantastic.

La Via Verde was a breath of fresh air during our travels in Nicaragua. Eileen and Darrel have created a wonderful space that has all the comforts you could possibly want in the middle of the Omotepe jungle. The rooms are spotless, the breakfast is over the top delicious, and the views of the volcano breathtaking. Thank you so much for making our stay so lovely! Excellent value.

The house is surounded with beautful trees, buterflies and there is an amazing view to the volcano Concepcion from the terrace. The room is well sized with a private balcony, hammock and rocking chairs, well suited to relaxing with a book for a few hours. The bathroom is shared with one other room and has hot water and looks new. The house is exceptionally clean and maintained. The breakfast was fantastic, with a range of home made treats from bread, granola, pancakes, coffee, jam, smoothies all collected from their organic farm. Eileen showed us how to make a number of things including yogurt, chesse and bread while Daren gave us a thorough tour of the farm explaning everything that we were interested in. We left with so much knowledge regarding the food we eat it really was an amazing experience, we would definitely go back if we return to nicaragua. This really is a nice quite place to get away from things, if your looking for a party this is not the place for you, however if you are looking for a place to relax with a couple of very kind, helpful and accomodating people then this farm is for you. There are a few nice restuarants owned by gringos within 5-15mins walking distance from the farm, the food is also excellent most of it being organic, pizza, curries, pasta etc at resonable prices. The area its self has a number of trails and activities that you can participate in that will easily keep you busy for your entire stay. Very authentic place, unique experience with lovely and truly amazing guys! We are very greatful for all help and extra care that we had during our 13 nights there.

Of all the places we stayed in Nicaragua, high-end to dorm bed, La Via Verde was our absolute favorite. The rooms are simple but elegant, featuring the skills of local woodworkers. The views of Conception are great.

We looked at some other places on the island, but chose Eileen and Darrin's little B&B because it's on the quieter side of the island. We didn't know that we were also staying on the breezy side, which significantly reduces the bugs and heat. The birding was fantastic, and a perfect swimming hole is minutes away.

I'm positive we'll head back to La Via Verde again. My wife and I got married while in Nicaragua, and we both look forward to anniversary trips to Ometepe.

Oh....Eileen's salt shakers are way better than Soma's, too.
