I stayed here for 1 night with my mother and had the worst hotel experience. DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER is true in this case. Overall decor from the door and reception, poor area and common areas looks nice - so called Arabian nights as some reviews describe. We wanted to take a shower and freshen up after our long drive. There was no hot water in the evening/night. At about 9 pm, I went to the reception and tried talking nicely to the receptionist. She had no idea and did not even know what hot water is. French ONLY! I used good translate to explain. She was rude and gave me a key to check a another room. That is her job/hotel. I didnt argue and climbed 3 storeys all the way at the end of the hall to check another room - same story. I went back, she again gave me another key! This time I made them check, and their waiter/bar guy confirmed no hot water. They did not rectify the situation and said there will be hot water after 6 am. We checked every 10 min between 6 and 8 am, and finally complained at the reception again. NO ENGLISH speaking people again and they did nothing to rectify the situation. Staff is rude and zero customer service level. We left angrily and would not recommend this place to anyone. No customer service level, and cannot call this place a hotel.
** If you would like a nice experience, hot water, decent customer service and some english speaking staff should you have a problem, DO NOT STAY HERE PLEASE. Do yourself a favor, and stay elsewhere in Zagora.**

Room Tip: Do NOT STAY HERE - do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else

One night in this hotel was not enough. On arrival you truly feel like royalty....most beautiful architecture ever! I could not stop staring and taking pics.

Our hotel room door was scary...it would not open and we sometimes got stuck,.,so we decided to just stay out until we were ready to sleep.
The room is spacious and the bathroom too,the shower didn't work though and the pressure was horrible.

Room was clean enough, but this hotel could so easily be exquisite if they put in the extra effort.

The garden and restaurant areas were amazing! We sat outside having wine until 1am...no mosquitoes...just beautiful scenery and tranquility.

Def recommend this hotel.

The next morning the porters screwed up our luggage with another group. They are also very slow. Rather lug your own bags unless you physically cannot.
The shop across the road has a freezer of water and drinks....best place to stock up before you head out into the heat of morocco again.

Dinner at this hotel was buffet and amazing, they also had a band and we danced a bit to African beats. Breakfast was very good...to Moroccan standards. But I had a tummy bug and could not eat much...hubby gorged himself though!

Overall a great stay and place.....!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the inner courtyard

Palais Asmaa is situated in a beautiful garden right in the palm grove a little outside of town. It has an interesting architecture with big rooms. There are lots of antiques inside and outside. Our group was served a delicious dinner next to the swimming pool, transformed into a fountain with waterjets. Our buffet breakfast was also served near the pool. Bad point, I saw a cockroach in the bathroom. WiFi worked well in the lobby. Friendly staff

We stayed at this hotel for one night during our tour with Encounters Travel. Initial impression on arrival was wow! Room was very large but we felt that the floors needed a good clean. We ate outside by the pool in a very nice setting and the food was excellent. The bar was very traditional in decor and a nice place to unwind with a few drinks.

I stayed at this hotel on an Encounters Travel tour and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were huge and the facilities were top notch. There wasn't much around the hotel but Zagora is an extremely small town so i don't think there are many options. The pool are was great, it was a bit cold to swim in March but if you are here in summer make sure you have some time to take advantage of the facilities.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room on a high floor overlooking the central gardens.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. You will be amazed. But you may also be amazed at the size of the bugs in your room too. My room was okay, but another person in our group had two huge roaches (as in several inches big) in their room. The locks on my room were very loose too. I was a little nervous that I would not be able to get out in the morning (you use your key to lock the door from the inside). The rooms did not smell very fresh either.

Dinner outside was lovely but strange. The food was good and the service was eager but not always effective. There were lots of feral cats underfoot too. I thought we were going to have a cat fight at one point. Eat inside if this bothers you.

All in all - the beauty of the place overcame the shortcomings of the management.

Room Tip: Inspect your room before you have your luggage brought up just in case you have a problem with locks...

We arrived at thotel after a long day touring -- and it was a magical reprieve from the tour bus and dusty roads that brought us to Zagora. Our tour group was about 28 strong and we only stayed one night. For Africa -- the hotel's rooms were huge and mine was sparesly decorated but clean. What makes this hotel special though are the grounds. The evening is magical with the twinkling lights and candles and the musicians playing in the courtyard while we sipped on cocktails. And after dinner we headed to the outdoor lounging areas which were a perfect way to relax.
