This is a great place to stop over for the evening on your way between the dunes of the Sahara and Marrakech. Spending a full day in the area is overrated but this Kasbah is a real gem with great views of the date oasis and the Atlas Mountains. Food was ok but by the time you have been in Morocco 5 or 6 days the tangines begin to blend together.

Definitely an unique experience and the rooms were spacious, dinner better than average and the staff quite helpful. Not worth seeking out on its own, but if you are on the way to somewhere it is definitely an option to keep in mind. Plus, it is pretty cool to sleep in a restored Kasbah.

This place is truly a little bit of heaven. Sure if you are after cable TV, elevators, aircons and other "costa del sol hotel" amenities, you will probably turn around in the doorway, but if you are after a truly amazing, authentic and tranquil moroccan experience this is the perfect place. We only stayed for one night as we were on route to Erg Chebbi but we whished that we could have stayed for longer. We arrived around 10pm and even though it was late at night, there was a fantastic chicken and olive tangine freshly prepared for us and served with moroccan salad, homemade bread and mint tea, followed by a beautiful dessert. We were taken around the kasbha and showed a few different rooms to choose from, all beautiful. We opted for a room our private terrace overlooking the interior court yard which also had an un-suite spotless bathroom and a really comfortable double bed. The room was simply but absolutely beautiful decorated and had a really romantic feel with lots of small lamps and candels. There was no need for any aircon as the room is naturally cool (even during soaring day time temperatures) and at night when the temperature dropped there was a thick blanket provided to keep us warm and cosy. We were offered to have the breakfast at the terrace overlooking the palmerie and the breakfast consisted of freshly squeezed organge juice, mint tea or coffe, crepes, and bread with fig and strawberry jam, which filled us up nicely to long after lunchtime. All the people that worked at the Kasbah were very friendly and helpful and all spoke french and most of the very good english. They really did everything they could to ensure that our stay where as good as it could possibly be.

The only regret that we have is that we could not stay for longer, its is truly a little bit of paradise set in a fantastic setting. I really could not recomend it enough.

After reading some of the less impressed reviews for this kasbah on Tripadvisor, I can't help to wonder why those people bothered to go to Morocco in the first place and if possible heat stroke caused their disolutioned judgement of such a fantastic place??

While the kasbah style of the hotel sure is impressive at first sight, this one is very average. With other words, nothing terrible and nothing fantastic. The rooms are nicely done but for example nobody bothers to remove the loads of bird [-] that you must cross at the entrance and outside the tower rooms. The restaurant has the atmosphere of a train station waiting hall, instead of some nice music they had the radio on with some sporting event in Arabic until another guest helped himself and started a CD. The food was very boring: Chicken tagine and no choice, which is the most common standard dish that you probably had every other day in Morocco anyway, but this one had some very tasteless chicken meat. Upon checkout at 10a.m. the receptionist was not there and could net be found, no one had change for me - and there are no big notes in Moroco, so I´m only talking about small change! Very common among taxi drivers who try to squeeze out a tip like that but so far hasn´t happened to me in a hotel.
