“One of the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2014

We stayed here 2 nights and cannot speak more highly of the riad and it's staff. The meals especially the kefta tajine were one of the best of our 3 week tour. The staff are all courteous and friendly. The pool and outside area are very very nice after a days touring. Our room was gorgeous and beautifully decorated again one of the best of our stays. Highly recommended.

We overnighted here on our 4 day mountain/desert tour. The hotel was very pretty and our rooms were extremely comfortable and modern compared to the other riads we had stayed in. We didn't have time to use the pool, but it would be very welcome on a hot day. Our dinner and breakfast were both very good. The restaurant manager is a real gentleman and goes out of his way to make his guests comfortable. Our experience with the front desk was very good as well. The location was good for us as we were only passing through but it is located out of the downtown area with not much around it to walk to.

This was a nice riad on the outskirs of Ouarzazate. My friend and I stayed here on the last night of our 4 day tour of Morocco. Because of its location near the edge of town, it was far quieter than we had anticipated meaning a nice night's sleep. The dinner (which was included in our stay) was tasty and we were able to sit outside near the pool and enjoy the sunset behind the surrounding houses. The wifi worked well in the lobby area and the rooms were well appointed. Definitely a good choice if staying overnight in the area.

This is a new Riad and the building is lovely. This Riad was booked for us as part of a dessert tour.
When we arrived we were shown to a very small room with three single beds the room had one window that opened into the hall, no closet or dresser (room to small for one) we turned on the air conditioner no cool air my son went into the bathroom no water!!! We went down to speak with person at the desk he told us the whole town had no water, he also told us the air condition takes awhile to cool the room and that the Riad was fully book so we could not be move to a move suitable room.
We went out to the pool to wait for our room to cool down, the pool is ice cold :(.
Two hours later we returned to room to find it just as hot and still no water.
We again go down to the front desk, the person at the desk says he can't move us and the water is off in the whole town. When I ask to speak to manager he doesn't understand what a manager is? I ask to be connected to the internet to get in touch with our tour guide, and surprise no internet IT doesn't work!!!!!
At this point I am very upset as we are trapped in a hotel with no water and no air conditioner ( the outside temperature is 36 degrees ) in a room with no window. Thankfully our tour guide was also staying here. Once our tour guide finds the manager we are immediately moved to a lovely large room with working air conditioner.
The manager and the waiter in the restaurant were very nice though, son was feeling unwell and the waiter borough him tea and spice for his stomach.
Then in the morning as I walk around the bed we find the biggest coach roach I have ever seen.

First of all, if you are choosing your riad based on its location in ouarzazate, do not look at the tripadvisor map as it appears to be bang in the centre of town....it isn't (not the first time i have noticed Trip Advisor be incorrect about a restaurant or hotel location in Morocco). Go to the riad bouchedour website and if you are driving, refer to this instead. The riad is signposted from the main road, as is other riads. It is about 5-10 min drive south of Ouarzazate en route to Zagora on the n9 road (cross the concrete bridge and turn left as you enter the centre of another town/village) you should see the sign just as you leave civilization.

Having said that, in our few days stay here using it as a base, most guests were staying only one or two nights before moving on and were part of a tour group or group of friends travelling together in a vehicle and the riad is suitably sufficient for this purpose. Without your own transportation it is a bit of a pain getting out and about as the riad is in the middle of a building site. It is supposed to be a village but the immediate surroundings is a mass of concrete. Even more confusing is the sound of cockerels, sheep and dogs during the day and night but it is not obvious where they all live amongst the seemingly empty buildings!

It is a new building with ample room to dine inside if you so wish (meals are of ample portions but the cook seems to have an obsession for decorating the desserts or the breakfast cake with children's party sprinkles!). The pool is wonderfully cool and inviting after a long day's trek in the heat and plenty of lounging areas if you do not wish to dip. The roof terrace at the top is wonderful for looking at the stars at night as there is little light pollution.

My only quibble, considering it is a newish building is that the shower head doesn't have a means to fix it onto the wall, whatever was there has either not been fixed on or has broken off but otherwise a pleasant stay.

We enjoyed our stay of a couple of nights here. The staff were friendly. The room was clean and was wonderfully cool compared to the very hot temperature outside. Food was just okay - certainly plentiful at dinner and breakfast, but not the best we've had in Morocco. The views from our room or from the common areas were not great, there is a lot of building happening around the hotel, but this did not detract from our stay.

Travellers to or from the Sahara or those exploringing the various Amazigh villages in the region will find this riad a real "oasis". Contemporary Moroccan designed new (14months old) hotel with more than a passing nod to Riad-Style. Very comfortable beds that are far superior to most found in riads, excellent airconditioning and a delightful pool to wash away the rigors of desert living !
Meals - breakfast and dinner are on the copious size although not gourmet they are quite acceptable fare. Staff are friendly and efficient and host Hassan Bouchedor (gotta love that name) clearly takes an interest in each guest and has a good relationship with his crew. Certain to return.
