We wanted to spend quality time with camels and the sahara sky, so I liased with Hakim and he was prompt to respond. Whilst we were there, his cousin Ahmed took us on our drive to Erg Chebbi. He was stoic and respectful, and would stop for "photo express" moments for us to stretch our legs, capture a few images, or wave him on, whichever we preferred.
The camel ride at sunset was fantastic, enough said. Waddling through soft silty sand and taking silly photos with the dusking sky behind us was just amazing. We had dinner of various tagines and spent the night in Berber tents, and loved huddling in the thick blankets with the wind whistling past outside.
The next morning we awoke to catch the sunrise - a perfect way to end the most memorable leg of our trip to Morocco.
