“best experience in Morocco”
Reviewed February 13, 2014

The location on the hill has superb views, and rooftop terrace makes it even better. The mint tea was actually nice! Dinner and breakfast here was delicious. The host (Tarek?) arranged a private camel trip for us to the dunes to see the sunset (only 200 MAD each), great experience. We stayed in the suite; I used the balcony to photograph star trails at night. bathroom is big, water was hot, bed is huge and comfortable, soap was provided. Tarek took us to see the oasis and gave good advice about the area. We were the only guests so it was like our own private castle. We would love to visit this place again.

Room Tip: The suites have balconies and these are great for watching the night sky privately without going out...

After crossing the High Atlas Mountains, travelling through the famous Tiz n Ticka pass and following the Draa Valley we finally reached what we hoped were the majestic sand dunes at Erg Chebbi, as it was quite dark by the time we arrived.
The door to the Auberge was opened by our charming host, Ismail, who insisted that we share tea with him after we had settled into our room.
Wow! Our room for the evening was decorated in earthy tones, with a step down bathroom, and delightful balcony where we could sit and look at the stars, it was such a beautiful night!
We returned to the main living area where we chatted over our tea, which was most welcoming. after organising a time for a dinner on the balcony, my husband and I sat down at the table on the large terrace under the stars and had a glass of wine (that we had been been advised to purchase on the way) before our homemade tagine arrived, which was SO delicious that I requested and received the recipe, which began, a handful of meat for each guest...absolutely delightful.
The highlight, however, was the pre-arranged pre-dawn camel trek up the sand dunes to watch the sun rise over the dunes! Seriously, I took 96 pictures, the sand changed into so many colours!!!
After a beautiful breakfast sitting, this time with the view of the dunes in the distance, we ate a substantial breakfast before heading off with our intrepid guide Mark Willenbrock, who had arranged such a memorable event for us.

Room Tip: I don't think it matters...

I stayed there with a friend from 11 to 12 August 2013. The room was clean and the air-con was a lifesaver! Our room came with an outdoor terrace that oversees the sand dunes in a distance. We had dinner at the lobby and it was delicious! The rooftop terrace is a must-go if you want to look at the stars! As the surrounding is almost pitch dark, the starlit sky is an awesome view! We were lucky enough to catch the perseid showers on 12 August - a night sky filled with countless stars and seeing so many shooting stars in one night was a truly memorable experience! The next morning we rode camels to the desert for sunrise. Again a real awesome experience. Ismail is a superstar :)

We really enjoyed our stay in the kasbah hotel Panorama with the wonderful host Ismail and his staff. We had a perfect dinner on the terrace overviewing the dessert and Merzouga. The kasbah is situated on a hill, which makes that view special. Ismail is very funny, speeks very good English (helpfull for "" old "tourists from Holland, who did not speak French for years). He had nice suggestions about a tour in the dessert, a camel ride and sleeping in the dessert. Beautiful, special, shooting stars...... Do I need to say more?

A guy from Todra recommended this Kasbah and we could only thank him! Out of the season without owner present we spend great time in Kasbah and day trips in dunes. Although we were the only gusts there the food served and the music that followed in the evening was just excellent. They surely did their best with accommodation and the organization of trips.
Not to mention the location of the hotel and the rooms it selves. It’s like being in a fairy tale!

The hotel was very good and the owner gave us an excellent service. We left early at 5:00 o'clock and the arranged breakfest at this early time. The room was clean, the beds slept well and the breakfest was good. The location was also good.
