We had a lovely stay at Riad Mamouche in July and walked to the dunes in the late afternoon when the heat was not a serious problem. Air-con in the rooms and quiet at all times apart from a lot of English kids that visited the pool one afternoon but no hazzle and it was a real pleasure to stay here. We had good food prepared and fresh fruit salads all nights.
The kind staff made us feel at home instantly. Highly recommended.

It was hot in Merzouga in september. Fortunately the aircondition in the rooms work very well. Everything goes slow if you order something but I think, considering the heat, this is no problem. They don't serve alcohol but it is no problem if you bring our own. The food is moderate but the people are kind and do their best to make you feel at home. Book a trip through the dessert; it is absolutely worth it to see it with a guide. To see de sun go down you have to go to the terrace witch is on the first floor (stairs). It would be nice if they would place there some more tables and chairs. Inside the Riad there is a pleasant swimming-pool with beds and seats around; also in the shade. Please mind you have to pay cash in this hotel

We visited for 2 nights, 1 spent in the dessert, other in the hotel. I could have stayed another week if I had the time. The hotel is very relaxing with a little oasis inside, birds chirping, cool and shaded restaurant patio and modern facilities (japanese electronic toilets are coming!). The hosts are incredibly helpful, always there for their guests and ready to assist in any way they can. There is a bit of construction going on right now so it will probably look even more amazing afterwards. Rooms are dark but is welcome after days spent outside. Beds are comfy and bathrooms clean. I am coming again for longer, there is so much to do in the area.

Room Tip: We had twin room and it was great

We didn't find anything particularly special about this hotel. It’s clean and comfy, although very dark; reading in bed was not an option. There’s a pool and a lovely rooftop patio. The food was highly over priced with little selection of just adequate fare. If you can go into Merzouga to eat, do so … although it’s still quite expensive by Moroccan standards. It’s probably an average hotel for the area, but definitely not impressive.

We stayed one night at Riad Mamouche and one in the desert on the camel trek. The riad is amazing, with a fantastic pool, gorgeous views on the large terasse, hugggggggggge beds, and delicious food (half board was included in our very very reasonable room rate).

We were initially concerned that we didn't have driving directions but it's impossible to miss the place. As you drive towards merzouga, signs start popping up advising of the location of different riads. A few kilometres north of Merzouga you will come across the sign for Mamouche.. a few minutes later, following the signs, you'll be there.

One note - there is no alcohol served on the premises but I saw a corkscrew on the wall in the restaurant so it seems that if you want to bring a bottle of wine of your own that would be no problem.

Also, there is wifi near the reception area, for those inclined to bring smartphones/ipads/laptops on holidays.

A delight in the desert!
