“Perfect time in Morocco”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2010

We spent in Dar el Khamlia few days and Brahim arrange for us a trip to Erg Chebi with camels. We enjoyed our stay there very much and had a lot of fun with Brahim and his friend Omar during our trip. We all felt there as being really welcomed and dearest guests. Many thanks for nice relaxing time far from all the false guides, for all kind help with transport and plans for next journey and especially for your hospitality and amazing food, you prepared in the desert. We highly recommed this place to everyone!

Dar el Khamlia and Khamlia village are perfect places to relax, to see many interesting things such as huge Sahara dunes, Nomad's tents, wild camels, rocky mountains, small lake with many birds around...You can live in Brahim's family house ,you can see how people in the village live, you can taste typical Moroccan food and enjoy big hospitality of the locals. There is no rush,no pushy businessman...just do what you want and what you like in this guiet and beautiful place. We felt very comfortable and happy and we can recommend this guesthouse to everybody who wants to visit Morocco and Sahara desert. Sarka and Vit

We very recomend to visit guest house in Dar el Khamlia! You will find real life in village in Sahara with no other tourists. Accomodation and food are OK. Trip to Sahara to huge dunas is marvellous. This experience stay in your mind for all life.

It was perfect place for us because we wanted to be amoung the locals and without other hotels around. The guest house was really nice and comfortable, exactly what we wish to have for stay in the desert so we could imagine a life there too. The family were very nice and the food excellent. It was warm so we were sleeping on the terrace and woke up under the sunrise behind sand dunes, which we sew from the house. We learned much about theirs life and also how to cook a special breakfast bread. Brahim and his brother spoke a little Spanish too so it was not problem about communication. Brahim speaks also English and French of course.
We did camel trek into sand dunes overnight in bivauc and it was really good experience and exciting too. Funny also even if we had pain in our back after sitting about 2 hours on the camels. Dinner we had was good and romantic. To that we listen to drum music and we danced a little.
We highly recommend others to stay in this guest house. We will hopefully be back again next year.

The perfect retreat away from the big hotels and tourists. Living with a local family you get a true sense of the desert and the way of life there. The family were great, the food out of this world, and their hospitality fantastic. we were very sad to leave as we were made to feel so at home there and could have happily stayed far longer than our week allowed!
We were a stones throw from the dunes and where the Gnawa play....the next time i travel there I'll definatly be staying at Dar el Khamlia.
