After a long drive to Fes, we were happy to arrive at the riad. Although we had made a reservation months before which had been confirmed by e-mail, we got the impression that we were not expected. Luckily they had a nice room for us but reading previous reviews this seems to happen more often. The people working at the hotel all were very nice and helpful but it is also a little bit unorganized.

Our room was spacious with good furniture. It was clean except for a plateau where you can put soap in the shower which looked really dirty covered with old remainders of soap. The dinner in the evening was plentiful as was breakfast in the morning.

We booked the trip to the private camp in the desert for the next day. Ahmed was our camel man and he was really great. It was a small group with 2 other couples, The 90 minute camel trip was amazing as you walk slowly into the beautiful sand dunes but because sitting at the camel was not really comfortable, we didn't mind that we arrived at the camp.

One couple in the group came straight from Fes which made the whole experience really tiring. We all concluded that after coming from Fes it is better to stay a night at the riad to be able to better enjoy the trip in the dessert. During the day you can for example go to the market of Risani.

The camp itself was really nice (on arrival our tents where lit with candles in little lanterns) and sitting on your carpet watching the stars was a wonderful experience. We had taken some drinks and snacks with us so waiting for the meal (about 1 1/2 hour after arriving at the camp) was no problem. (tip: also take a flashlight with you because it can become very dark in the camp and the restrooms are a little walk from the tents). The meal was nice and afterwards Ahmed and his companion performed some local music for us.

We woke up before sunrise and it was a real magical moment. Afterwards we drove back to Merzouga where we were given a room at the riad to shower. It was really nice to freshen up and made us enjoy the breakfast at the riad even more.

Afterwards we left and had plenty of time to reach our next destination in the Dades gorge.

We loved the bivac and can really recommend to do this through Riad Nezha.

We arrived in Merzouga with nothing booked and found the Riad Nezha by a sign on the main road. The welcome could not have been better, whisky bereber and biscuits. The room was terrific and I cannot praise this place enough. The chicken tagine was the best we had in Morocco. Breakfast was OK. Mohamed organised a camel ride to Erg Chebbi for us which was, probably the highlight of our trip to Morocco as this was the desert!! If we are in Merzouga again this where we will stay.

Our tour agent booked us here for a night before and after an overnight in the desert. We had a large clean room and adjoining bath in this new riad. The welcome was outstanding, so gracious and fun. Moroccan Mint tea is always a nice greeting! We had dinner by the pool, along with other guests. The tangines were tasty. Breakfast the next morning was a lovely Continental spread on the terrace. (Our second morning was a slimmer offering, but still good.) I

The riad stored our luggage in the room we slept in the night prior, so basically the room was still ours, even though we were having an overnight out in the desert. The next morning, that shower was so welcome! The Riad Nezha was a very nice place to accommodate us on our Camel Trek.

The Riad is very nice. The rooms are comfortable and large. The staff is extremely helpful and arrange trips to the desert. They speak quite a range of languages. The food is wonderful and tastes very good. There is a buffet for breakfast and dinner. We stayed one night in the Riad and the second in the desert. You can leave your luggage at the hotel and have a shower and breakfast when you come back from the desert.
I have only two negative points: The water is not included in the desert trip and the Riad sells you the bottle for 15 which is expensive compared to shop prices. Furthermore if you take a meal which is not included like breakfast and dinner than ask for prices. It can be expensive or let's say european prices.
Everything else was wonderful. Thank you very much.

Having travelled for all of the day to get to Merzouga, it was such a great relief to be warmly welcomed into a great Riad with spacious & very well appointed rooms & a pool to cool off in. The owner and staff were helpful & responsive to our families needs. We were given wonderful support for the camel ride out to the overnight desert camp & breakfast the next miring in return. I highly recommend this establishment.

Our stay at Riad Nezha in Merzouga was a highlight on our month long trip to Morocco from Australia. Located at the foot of an oasis on the edge of the Sahara it is a fantastic base for excursions into the Sahara.
The riad is stylish and luxurious. Our room was spacious, beautifully furnished with traditional high quality artefacts and contained all mod cons including a very clean western style bathroom. The riad also has a large clean pool that takes makes all the difference in keeping cool and relaxed in Merzouga's heat.
The multilingual riad staff were attentive, interesting and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend the half board food option that catered so well for our vegetarian requirements for breakfast and evening meals. The food was tasty and varied.
I recommend the Riad organised half day 4x4 trip into the Sahara to visit local musicians, nomad camps, fossil fields and abandoned kohl mines. The trip was inexpensive and we wouldn't have seen these things by ourselves.
However a highlight was definitely the riad organised overnight sunset camel trip into the magical Sahara. Our cameleer was a true professional. He was engaging and knowledgeable and cooked a delicious tagine that we ate under the stars. I felt very privileged to have had this experience.
In summary I wish we could have stayed longer and highly recommend a stay at Riad Nezda where true Moroccan hospitality takes very good care of guests.

Room Tip: I always request a non-smoking quiet room when booking accommodation in the comments section.

This was one of the best riads we stayed in. We came in in the dark so we were very excited to see the dunes from our window in the morning. We had wonderful breakfasts and dinner on the roof top terrace. The riad coordinated our camel trek which was the wildest adventure. Out into the desert we went with our guide, Ahmed. He was very informative and funny. We had chicken tagine under the stars by candlelight. How do they do that so far from a kitchen? Ahmed took us out in the dark to sit on the top of a dune to ponder the wonder of our world in the silence. We chose to sleep, not in the tent, but under the Big Dipper. We were up at dawn to watch the sunrise and then back to the riad for breakfast and a shower. The riad is top notch for everything.
