We had an incredible experience at Les Roches Auberge! The camel trek was a lot of fun, very beautiful & relaxing. The guides speak English, French, German, Berber, Arabic, Portuguese etc. . . They are very accommodating & flexible. The oasis experience is relaxing and a great break from hectic life. The auberge is situated on the edge of the dunes. The view of the stars from the auberge's terrace at night is brilliant. The staff will steal your heart--they are so welcoming, friendly, warm & fun. We had a great time listening to the incredibly talented drummers & guitarist play traditional Berber music while we had dinner. They are very personal, making & friendships with their guests. The homemade berber food is great. Coming from someone who lives in Morocco, their tagine is the best :-) Their is also wifi if you need it. Additionally, Les Roches is a fantastic value--we didn't anticipate how much we would get for so little!! We cannot wait to go back!

In Merzouga I stay in a nice hotel with a very helpfull staff
The location was excellent; just outside the hotel you walk straight in the sand dessert with the sand dunes in close walking distance
It is a pity that the Quads are still allowed to ride in the dunes, but the views are great

We have liked this hotel very much, at least for it's price and friendlyness.

The owner was tremoundously friendly to us from the start. We were received with a mint tea and some local nuts. He helped us a great deal providing us with great walks in the neighbourhood, and solved a transportation problem we had. Merzouga is not what you can call a big city.

We had also done a camel trip to see the sunrise, arranged by the hotel. The guiding was nothing specacular, but it did suffice. It was just a fair and pleasant experience. Seeing the sunrise itself however is very much worth it.

The food given in half board is better than most of the other hotels we had stayed in. Do expect the local specialties, but they are given in very nice quantities, and the flavour is far better than most places we had stayed. The same holds true for the breakfast, which was more than abundant. All in all, this was a good place to eat.

The room was up to standards for the price. It was clean and simple. Everything that you could expect was there for the price.

However, a bit like in all hotels and tours in Maroc, this one is no exception, and you should haggle. The base rates however are not really unfair, so if you do not haggle, you wouldn't really be scammed.

So, if you are looking for a pleasant stay at a fair price, you probably won't find any better in Merzouga!

I spent two days at the Auberge. Rooms are comfortable, food is genuine and excellent, staff members are friendly, very helpful and modest. I arrived shortly before 7 pm and was invited to the Ramadan breakfast with staff and friends of the house. Dinner followed later. The following morning, Lahcen, the host, organized a 4x4 tour around the Erg (sand dunes). I pointed at a Nomade tent and asked whether it was possible to visit. The driver said yes, of course, and we were sponaneously (no tourist event!) invited by the Nomades for tea. The eldest daughter proudly showed us around. In the afternoon, Mustafa, a nephew of Lahcen, took me to a camp in the sand dunes. The dromedar "Bob Marley" kindly provided transport. In the camp, Mustafa prepared a wonderful Tajine. In the morning, we could watch the sunrise, and after a ride back to the Auberge, a healthy breakfast was served. Everything was organized very well, and I would love to go back to the Auberge.

Most friendly people I have ever met in my lifetime.I was sad to leave because I was treated like a queen. Servie at the hotel was extremely Food was good and the entertainment with the music was very entertaining. I wish I could leave today and go back to stay. I have been sharing my trip with many people here in America and hope they will take the time to go visit Morocco and stay at the Auberge Les Roches Hotel. The sand dunes and riding out on the camels to watch the sunset and sunrise is well worth the time to see. I loved everyone at the hotel and I would love to get back again this year to stay again with the most friendly people ever.
